COMMUNITY ALTAR EXHIBIT Webster Auditorium Curated by Ulrike Figueroa Vilchis, the Altar builds upon the theme of La Catrina, an iconic figure, who gained her distinct look in Diego Rivera’s 1947 painting “Sueño de una tarde dominical en la Alameda Central”. Experience a central altar showcasing 25 rebozos. At the altar’s pinnacle, a grand papier-mâché bust resembling Posada’s original La Catrina takes center stage, surrounded by 49 intricately crafted papier-mâché figures by internationally renowned artists Oscar Becerra Mora and Rubén “Mica” Castillo Navarrete from Mexico City.

LA PROCESIÓN Ullman Terrace 5:30 – 6:30pm Join Cachito Dance Project and large-scale Alebrijes Iluminados in a procession in memory of passed loved ones. Begins at Ullman Terrace and concludes in Sunset Plaza near Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust Desert Terrace Garden. Join La Procesión at any point along its journey or meet it at its end in Sunset Plaza. Guests are invited to contribute to the tree of life in Sunset Plaza.
