MATCHDAY PROGRAMME FOR THE WAIBOP UNITED YOUTH TEAM

WaiBOP United v Hawkes Bay United Sunday November 1, 2015 St Peter’s School, Cambridge

Welcome to our Visitors WaiBOP United would like to welcome the players and coaching staff from Hawkes Bay United to St Peter’s School for this 4th round ASB Youth League match. Many of our players enjoyed some great Hawkes Bay hospitality with

their clubs at the U-19 tournament last weekend, but today’s it’s me for us to get back to business and hopefully build on our encouraging result and preformance against Waitakere. Best of luck to the players and coaching staff both teams.

ASB Youth League - Rd 3 Southern United rampaged their way to the top of the ASB Youth League on Sunday with an empha c 8-1 victory over the Wellington Phoenix in Dunedin. Playing at the Caledonian Ground, the hosts ran riot in the first 45 minutes of the contest, scoring seven unanswered goals as Ben Kiore helped himself to four goals while Benjamin added three of his own. Elsewhere, the defending champion Nelson Marlborough Falcons rebounded from their heavy defeat to Auckland City with a home 3-0 victory over Heartland Wairarapa at Guppy Park. Omar Guardiola scored twice for the hosts while Max Winterton added the third. At the Petane Domain in Napier, Team Wellington scored two late goals to clinch a drama c 4-3 victory over Hawke’s Bay United. Holding a 3-2 lead in the 88th minute, the hosts looked set to get their first points of the season a er three second half goals, but the visitors struck in the 89th and 95th minutes. Similar scenes unfolded in Auckland as Waitakere United were pipped at Ngahue Reserve by WaiBOP United –

the visitors scoring twice in the final 11 minutes to earn their first three points of the season. Dylan Bull had given WaiBOP a 12th minute lead which lasted only 60 seconds as Judd Baker brought the hosts level. Waitakere were 2-1 up just before the hour through Jack Gusmeroli before two goals in the last 11 minutes turned things around for the visitors. Jonathan Viviani pulled WaiBOP level in the 79th minute before Quinton Kipara stole the points with his 86th minute winner. Leaders a er round two, Manawatu United shared the points with Canterbury United in a 1-1 draw at Memorial Park in Palmerston North on Sunday, Aidan Barbour-Ryan giving Canterbury a 43rd minute lead before it was cancelled out by Lee Rufer’s 49th minute penalty. Auckland United recorded their first win of the compe on with a 2-1 victory over Auckland City FC. The visitors held a 2-0 advantage via a second half goal to Gurjeet Singh and a sumptuous free kick soon a er from Charlie Thomas and that proved to be enough despite Josh Moody pulling one back for the hosts.
