Hello everyone and welcome back to the Domain. We have a full book of fixtures here this weekend, following on from another busy morning for our juniors at Pohlen Park. Welcome to Marcelo, Kyle and Ngaruawahia United’s players and supporters. Ngaruawahia has really stepped it up on and off the field this season and, as an administrator of a similar sized club, it’s been great to watch what you guys are doing. Ambition in New Zealand football is to be commended so well done on your progress so far. I can’t wish you all the best for today, although I don’t expect you’ll lose any sleep over that. We’ll do what we can to make your visit to the Domain a tough one but, beyond that, I hope you go on and realise your ambitions. It would be great to see the Green Machine back where you belong. Hopefully the Swifts will be flying around somewhere close come the end of this season. Our reserves play host to West Hamilton in today’s curtain raiser, while the Swifts Ladies look to extend their 100% record on Sunday against Northern United. Overall, it’s been a good start to the season for our senior teams, after a hectic few weeks in the build-up. The challenge now is to keep the enthusiasm going, both in games and at training, as the weather packs up and the matches come think and fast. We’ve also had a really positive start to our junior football season. With more teams and a new home ground, plus initiatives like the Fez Kebab-sponsored training shirts, the junior section of the club is in great heart. We also have a number of new coaches, who have all settled in and are doing a magnificent job with the kids. Pohlen Park is a fun place to be on Saturday mornings. Enjoy the games this weekend. I’ll see you on the sidelines. Dwayne Barlow, Club Mouthpiece

Junior Opportunity - Shirt Sponsorship Investment: $500 + GST. We have full sets of shirts, in the club’s new Nike style, on order now for ALL our junior 8th to 12th grade teams. We expect them to be available and in use by mid-June. With this comes a unique opportunity to get the logo of your business, or the business you work for, placed on the front of the shirts of your child’s team. This is a one-off investment that lasts for the life of the shirts (usually 3-4 seasons). All funds raised through this scheme will be re-invested in the club’s junior programme.
