ASB Youth League - Rd 6 Team Wellington maintained top spot in the ASB Youth League a er sixth round ac on around the country over the weekend. In the ba le of the top two sides heading into the round, Team Wellington struck three second half goals at Dave Farrington Park on Saturday to kick clear of WaiBOP United 4-1 on the day and in the standings. Finn Moore scored the first of his two goals in the 35th minute to open the scoring before Kwame Norku made it 2-0 inside the opening 60 seconds of the second half. Ten minutes later Moore made it 3-0 before Paul Clout pulled a goal back for the visitors soon a er. Team Wellington subs tute Jack Imray restored his side’s three-goal lead soon a er entering the game to finish the scoring. The victory moves Team Wellington side to 15 points three clear of a trio of teams on 12 points. Southern United are the first of those a er they banged in five unanswered goals at Memorial Park in Palmerston North in a 5-0 win over Manawatu United. Waitakere United sit in third place,
behind Southern only on goal difference a er their 1-0 derby victory over Auckland City FC at Kiwitea Street. A er a scoreless first half, Waitakere United subs tute Niko Kirwan gave his side a 78th minute lead which they maintained to the final whistle. Defending champions Nelson Marlborough occupy fourth posi on a er their 1-0 victory over the Wellington Phoenix at Wakefield Park in Wellington. Canterbury United sit fi h following their drama c stoppage me 4-3 win over Hawke’s Bay United at Petane Domain in Napier. A first half hat-trick to Fane Morgan had the hosts 3-2 up at the break but Canterbury’s Aiden Barbour-Ryan levelled for the visitors in the 74th minute. With the game deep into stoppage me Fraser Angus popped up in the seventh added minute to steal all three points for the visitors. Heartland Wairarapa li ed themselves off the bo om of the table as they picked up their first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Auckland United on Saturday.

2015/16 ASB Premiership The 2015/16 ASB Premiership season kicked off for Loaded WaiBOP United with a 3-2 defeat to Team Wellington at Gower Park, Hamilton, last Sunday. This game was the first of six home games to be televised live on Sky Sport. Four of our away games will also be televised in this exci ng development for football in New Zealand.
