MATCHDAY PROGRAMME FOR THE LOADED WAIBOP UNITED YOUTH TEAM
WaiBOP United v Canterbury United Sunday December 6, 2015 Porritt Stadium, Hamilton
Welcome to our Visitors WaiBOP United would like to welcome the players and coaching staff of Canterbury United to Porri Stadium for this 9th round ASB Youth League match. This is the pointy end of the season, where a single victory or defeat can mean so much to a team’s final standing
in the league. Both ourselves and Canterbury enter the match off vital wins and, with so much at stake, this promises to be a real cracker. A big thank you also to all the volunteers who ensured today’s match runs smoothly.
ASB Youth League - Rd 8 Defending ASB Youth League champions Nelson Marlborough Falcons secured a 3-1 victory over Team Wellington hal ng the visitors’ impressive winning streak at six matches. Max Winterton put Nelson ahead and Riley Haymes made it 2-0 with 25 minutes to go. Finn Moore grabbed his seventh of the season to pull one back for Team Wellington, but Winterton ended the doubt in the 88th minute. The result s ll sees Team Wellington at the top of the pile but only on goal difference a er Waitakere United claimed a 3-2 win over the Wellington Phoenix at Ngahue Reserve in Auckland. The hosts came from a goal down a er Gianni Bouzoukis opened the scoring for the Phoenix three minutes before hal ime but early goals in the second half from Nick Sugden and Jake Porter had Waitakere ahead. Bouzoukis responded again in the 83rd minute but Judd Baker’s 90th minute winner clinched Waitakere’s fi h straight victory. Canterbury United occupy third place, a point behind the top two a er an empha c 5-0 win over Southern United
at ASB Football Park in Christchurch. The hosts were four goals up by hal ime thanks to Abdul Khalifa, Sho Mathieson, Ryan Stanley and Renta Yamamoto. Khalifa’s second of the day inside the first 10 minutes of the second half completed the scoring. WaiBOP United sit in fourth place a er a s rring comeback win over Heartland Wairarapa at Memorial Park in Masterton. Heartland were two goals up a er 27 minutes thanks to Josh McMenamin and Mike McCutcheon but Dylan Stansfield gave WaiBOP a foothold five minutes before hal ime. Stansfield levelled two minutes into the second half and the comeback was completed when subs tute Quinton Kipara found a drama c 91st minute winner. Auckland City FC hold seventh spot following their resounding 5-0 win over Hawke’s Bay United at Seddon Fields in Auckland, compounding the misery for the league’s bo om side, who are yet to register a point in the compe on. Auckland United moved into eighth place with a 4-0 result over Manawatu United at Centre Park in Mangere.
