Hello everyone and welcome back to the Domain after a week away. Hopefully the weather’s kind to us today, even though the forecast (as I write) suggests we may be in for something a little less than perfect. Welcome to the players and coaching staff of Te Awamutu and Tauranga City. I’m looking forward to both games as our Premiership and Championship teams look to put last weekend’s less than ideal effort at Blue Rovers well and truly behind us. We have a deep and varied rivalry with Te Awamutu that goes back to well before I was playing. So yeah, a loooong time. We’ve battled each other in the old Waikato Times League (showing my age there), the Northern League and the WaiBOP Premiership and I’m sure today’s match will be no less full of incident than any of those past encounters. Both teams need the points so it should be a good watch. Off the field, we have a couple of decent options this weekend. The Swifts Ladies team is hosting our first club event of the season after today’s games. They’re not giving too much away, but it sounds like they’ve got some pretty interesting games in store and some very, very good prizes on offer. Aim to be at the clubrooms by 6pm this evening or just stay on after the Premiership match. Tomorrow morning you can join me (and others) for breakfast and some football. Our friends at Redoubt are showing the UEFA Champions League Final and, as always, will be putting on a good feed. Breakfast and coffee is only $20. Kick-off is at 7am, so not too early, but make sure you get there well before so you can score a prime seat. I never (ever) thought I’d be watching Spurs in the Champions League final...football’s a funny old game, ain’t it? As always, I’ll see you on the sidelines. Dwayne Barlow, Club Mouthpiece

We expect them to be available and in use by mid-June. With this comes a unique opportunity to get the logo of your business, or the business you work for, placed on the front of the shirts of your child’s team. WaiBOP Premiership Update - Round 7 There was little movement at the pointy end of The Soccer Shop WaiBOP Premiership over the weekend as the top five all won. Most of the victories looked relatively comfortable, with only leaders ninetyblack Taupo appearing to be pushed. Taupo’s visitors on Saturday, bottom side Safer Team Te Puke United, scored early through Kyne Ritson then doubled their lead later in the first half thanks to Andrew Skerten. Te Puke held their two goal advantage through until half time and had the scent of an upset in their nostrils as the teams came out after the break. That only lasted a few minutes. Captain, Robbie Williams, halved the deficit not long after the restart, then Jordan Lamb levelled things up just after the hour mark. Dylan Crighton’s winner with just under a quarter hour left saved any blushes for the Lakesiders and also helped them maintain their two point lead at the top of the Premiership’s standings. Flying Mullet Papamoa went on a second consecutive goal scoring rampage as they pummelled West Hamilton United 6-0 at Weka Street. Colm Kenny and Liam Molloy both scored twice as Papamoa ravaged a depleted West Hamilton side. They moved into second spot, ahead of Waikato Unicol on goal difference. Unicol, for their part, made much harder work of their 2-0 win at Gisler Architects Te Awamutu, but their three points kept them in

touch with Taupo ahead of their showdown with the Lakesiders in a fortnight. Thomas Wright’s opener on six minutes got Unicol off to a good start, but they went down to ten men on the half hour after Jackson Allen saw red. Reuben Henderson doubled Unicol’s lead ten minutes into the second half, however, and the hard working students saw the match out. Otumoetai ensured there would be no repeat of their ISPS Handa Chatham Cup defeat as two goals in the first quarter at Ngaruawahia United saw them home 2-0. JP Rosende shot home from the penalty spot inside the five minutes, before Jordi Langton doubled the visitors’ lead. Tauranga Blue Rovers notched up their third win in four games, coming from behind to defeat Comag Matamata Swifts 4-1 at Pemberton Park. Bjorn Vossen gave the Swifts the lead right on half time, but four goals in sixteen minutes through the middle stages of the second half got the job done for Rovers. Olly Tilly scored twice, either side of a Joaquin Reynoso penalty, before Jared Bailey put the seal on a fine result for the home team. The other Premiership match finished level. Jordi Ditfort gave Melville United a two goal half time lead, before Tauranga Boys’ College hit back through Braxton Fisher and Scott Hawkins in the second half to ensure their match finished 2-2.
