Ihad the unique opportunity to experience this up close with the prestigious haute couture house, Christian Dior. To my surprise, DIOR would present its CRUISE 2024 collection in Mexico, and I was part of the team responsible for the collection’s adjustments.

The beginning was truly exceptional; the atmosphere was captivating and mysterious. I found myself in an impressive workshop surrounded by talented designers, tailors, and seamstresses from Mexico, Europe, and Africa. It was thrilling to witness the process of creating these designs. From witnessing the model casting to the selection of garments, it was astounding. They brought 2000 pieces for the collection, which I had access to, and I carefully observed how they chose only 160 for the grand runway show. It felt like being in a dream; I wanted to try on everything.

The dream didn’t end there; I had the opportunity to dress celebrities - singers, actresses, and models - in DIOR’s wardrobe. It was extraordinary to see a fashion collection up close with such a powerful message, as Maria Grazia Chiuri did with a runway show full of symbolism, with Mexican models wearing inspiring garments inspired by the art of Frida Kahlo and a fusion of Mexican clothing and textile techniques.

The excitement I experienced cannot be fully described in words. The DIOR team pleasantly surprised us by giving each member of the Mexico atelier sewing machines that we will use with great honor. This gesture was the perfect ending to this unforgettable experience.
