As I was standing at our booth at this year’s Nation’s Capital Dental Meeting, I could’t help but notice the feedback from visitors was becoming remarkably repetitive. Second only to “the popcorn is delicious,” was the message of appreciation that a company like DC Dental still exists. Appreciation that, in 2013, there could be a full-service, value alternative to the dental supplies giants. Doctors practicing for 20-to-30-plus years particularly noted that most of those independent suppliers who dotted the dental landscape, especially in the Mid-Atlantic (where we are headquartered), had been bought out years ago by the “big guys” and that competition had suffered as a result. The encouragement made standing on our feet for three days straight a lot easier.

That encouragement stirred our creativity as well. Based on the feedback, we wrote the humorous Aesop-fable-styled story that you can find on the back page of this issue.

The entrant associated with that number will be announced as that week’s winner on DC Dental’s Facebook homepage. Winner will also be contacted via the email address provided in the entry form. Winner must be an employee of the dental practice whose invoice/sales receipt number was entered. Entrant agrees to allow use of name and name of dental practice on DC Dental Facebook page or other associated marketing material.
