AIMExpo launches Championship of the Americas, announces consumer show series plan for 2016 OPAmerican Bike Builders are expected to compete for entry to the 2016 AMD World Championship (at INTERMOT, Germany, October 2016) when AIMExpo hosts its first annual AMD World Championship affiliate custom bike show at Orlando, Florida later this year. The 'Championship of the Americas' (October 15 - 18, 2015) is the latest initiative by organizer Marketplace Events (MPE) to deliver "the powersports industry’s largest combined trade and consumer show, one which speaks to all parts of the industry - all riders, all dealers and all vendors." Building on the announcement of its "Made In America" initiative, AIMExpo's v-twin market director Bob Kay says that "as an officially affiliated show to the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building, this dynamic new feature showcasing top custom motorcycles and their builders will appeal to trade, media and consumer attendees alike. Motorcycle Group. “This showcase of the imagination, resourcefulness and originality of American companies has generated great interest among exhibitors and media - and like the custom bikes, will be a favorite of dealers and consumer attendees this October.” In an additional announcement AIMExpo has said that it plans to develop a series of regional consumer shows around the United States, starting in 2016. Mike Webster, President of MPEs Motorcycle Group says that the shows will be timed to promote 2016 model year products, and will "focus on experimental elements and attracting new riders," according to MPE President Mike Webster. "Since our earliest research on the viability of the AIMExpo launch we've been continually asked by key industry players when we would produce a series of consumer-only events to complement the combined trade and consumer platform at AIMExpo.
