Order of service Bridal Precession Opening Hymn Morning Has Broken

Morning has broken, like the first morning, Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird. Praise for the singing! Praise for the morning! Praise for them springing fresh from the word! Sweet the rain’s new fall, sunlit from heaven Like the first dewfall, on the first grass. Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden. Sprung in completeness where his feet pass. Mine is the sunlight! Mine is the morning, born of the one light, Eden saw play! Praise with elation, praise every morning, God’s recreation of the new day! Welcome by Father Dolan Opening prayer Read by Father Dolan

A Reading from the First Letter of St Paul to the Corinthians 12:31- 13:8 Read by Claire Schofield

If I am without love, it will do me no good whatever. Be ambitious for the higher gifts. And I am going to show you a way that is better than any of them. If I have all the eloquence of men or of angels, but speak without love, I am simply a gong booming or a cymbal clashing. If I have the gift of prophecy, understanding all the mysteries there are, and knowing everything, and if I have faith in all its fullness, to move mountains, but without love, then I am nothing at all. If I give away all that I possess, piece by piece, and if I even let them take my body to burn it, but am without love, it will do me no good whatever. Love is always patient and kind; it is never jealous; love is never boastful or conceited; it is never rude or selfish; it does not take offence, and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people’s sins but delights in the truth; it is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes. Love does not come to an end. This is the word of the Lord. Response: Thanks be to God

Responsorial Psalm Read by Father Dolan The response is: The Lord is kind and merciful. Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all my being, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul And forget not all his benefits. Response: The Lord is kind and merciful. Merciful and gracious is the Lord, slow to anger and abounding in kindness. As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him Response: The Lord is kind and merciful. But the kindness of the Lord is from eternity to eternity toward those who fear him, and his justice towards children’s children among those who keep his covenant. Response: The Lord is kind and merciful.

Reading: On Your Wedding Day Anon Read by Hannah Burgess Today is the day you will always remember - The greatest in anyone’s life You start off the day just two people in love And end it as husband and wife. It’s a brand new beginning, the start of a journey With moments to cherish and treasure And although there’ll be times when you both disagree These will surely be outweighed by pleasure. You’ll have heard many words of advice in the past When the secrets of marriage were spoken, But you know that the answers lie hidden inside Where the bond of true love lies unbroken. So live happy forever- as lovers and friends It’s the dawn of a new life for you As you stand there together with love in your eyes From the moment you whisper ‘I do’. And with luck, all your hopes, and your dreams can be real May success find its way to your hearts Tomorrow can bring you the greatest of joys But today is the day it all starts.

Gospel Acclamation Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia! If we love one another, God will live in us in perfect love, Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Gospel Reading Read by Father Dolan A reading from the Gospel according to John 5 Response: Glory to you Lord

John 15:9-12 Jesus said to his disciples; As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy might be in you and your joy might be complete. This is my commandment: Love one another as I love you. This is the gospel of the Lord Response: Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ Homily Wedding Blessing and Exchange of Marriage Vows Bidding Prayers

The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. Amen

Reading: Love Is Giving Anon Read by Linda Platt

BIG DAY

Love is giving, not taking, mending, not breaking, trusting, believing, never deceiving, patiently bearing and faithfully sharing each joy, every sorrow, today and tomorrow. Love is kind, understanding, but never demanding. Love is constant, prevailing, its strength never failing. A promise once spoken For all time unbroken, Love’s time is forever.

Concluding Rite and Blessing of the Marriage 8

Final Hymn: Lord of the Dance I danced in the morning When the world was begun, And I danced in the moon And the stars and the sun, And I came down from heaven And I danced on the earth, At Bethlehem I had my birth.

Chorus

I danced on a Friday When the sky turned black It’s hard to dance With the devil on your back. They buried my body And they thought I’d gone, But I am the Dance, And I still go on.

Dance, then, wherever you may be, I am the Lord of the Dance, said he, And I’ll lead you all, wherever you may be, And I’ll lead you all in the Dance, said he.

Chorus

They cut me down And I leapt up high; I am the life That’ll never, never die; I’ll live in you If you’ll live in me I am the Lord Of the Dance, said he.

I danced for the scribe And the pharisee, But they would not dance And they wouldn’t follow me. I danced for the fishermen, For James and John They came with me And the Dance went on. Chorus

I danced on the Sabbath And I cured the lame; The holy people Said it was a shame. They whipped and they stripped And they hung me high, And they left me there On a Cross to die.
