Our Vision

We anticipate a world where organic, nutritious crops, grown sustainably, are available to everyone. That is why De Bolster is committed to supporting organic farming by providing growers with high quality seed of the best varieties.

“Premium organic seeds for growers’ success”

“Everything we do is focused on delivering sustainable solutions for our customers.

Forty Years of Experience With our belief in organic farming, we have become specialists in breeding and producing organic seeds. We grow seed of more than 370 varieties of vegetables, herbs and flowers - all certified organic and GMO-free. De Bolster offers seed companies, professional growers and home gardeners the very best in organic seeds and advice on how to get the best results from them. De Bolster can call on more than 40 years of experience. As a family-owned company, we enjoy strong, healthy roots in the seed industry. Our deep understanding of organic culture and vast knowledge of seeds helps us meet the demands of the entire chain.

Our core values: Personal We seek long-lasting partnerships with our customers, built on mutual trust and respect. Reliable We offer knowledge, expertise and sound advice to support those who grow our seeds. As we learn more, we share this with our customers, to whom we pride ourselves on keeping our promises. Speciality We maintain our focus on top quality organic seeds, and continue to seek the best varieties for successful organic culture.

Organic Breeding De Bolster strives continually to breed better varieties, and always with successful organic culture in mind. Many years of experience and knowledge of organic growing help us to meet the needs of our customers. As an innovative breeder, with bright ideas and fresh thinking, we are particularly well known for our orange winter squash varieties for the fresh market in north-west Europe. We are also developing a wide range of tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, beans and summer squashes, with varieties particularly suited to professional growers, as well as varieties aimed at home gardeners. As we believe in the benefits

of collaboration, we sometimes work in partnership with other breeders to develop the best varieties, of which we exclusively produce organic seeds. For the benefit and future of our industry, it is crucial we continue to seek, discover and develop better performing products. Different from other breeding companies, De Bolster focuses solely on organic breeding. All our breeding is conducted with ‘classical’ techniques under organic conditions. This strategy is chosen to breed very robust, vigorous and productive varieties, selected for their exceptional performance in organic conditions.

“Our customer-focused breeding delivers innovative genetics that bring value throughout the chain

“We focus on your success, offering premium quality backed by our expertise”

Purely Organic Seeds De Bolster is not an ordinary seed distributor. Organic seeds are our core business. We produce our seeds at the best growing locations around the globe. We have more than 300 hectares in ten countries. All seeds are produced under the supervision of our own quality inspectors, who monitor continuously and improve growing methods. Once harvested, seeds are cleaned and processed in-house, then packed and stored under state-of-art storage conditions, keeping the quality and germination at the highest levels. As we own the entire process and control the seed quality from start to finish, we are able to offer competitive prices and speedy delivery. All our seeds are certified by Skal Biocontrole, the organic control body of the Netherlands, assigned by the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

As an expert partner, we are more than happy to think about how to make your range more attractive to your customers and more profitable for you.
