ESMOD’s 18 schools in 12 countries together make up the world’s only such family of schools for fashion education. ESMOD’s expertise is thus transmitted to train industry professionals worldwide using patented teaching methods. As clothing is an indispensable part of every culture, ESMOD Oslo draws on Norway’s rich local traditions in materials and techniques, training its students in the creation of pieces worthy of an Autumn-Winter wardrobe (coats, sweaters, etc.) requiring a highlevel of technical ability. Far from sticking with the basics, Oslo students take pleasure in stylising casual concepts to create chic, contemporary collections. The more well-known aspects of Nordic technicity (working with leather, fur and knitwear) are not neglected in the completion of their training.
ESMOD Oslo’s partnership with Kristiania University College, allows it to strengthen its academic status and benefit from magnificent new premises, just a stone's throw from the beautiful port of Oslo.
Seoul South Korea
Drawing on the vibrancy of an ever-expanding textiles market, ESMOD Seoul stands out with its sharp fashion vision and high level of technical expertise. A real focus is placed upon finishings for fabrics (textures, prints, etc.) in order to emphasise the design of each garment.
As the fashion market is highly sector-specific, ESMOD Seoul has developed specific courses to serve these areas, such as Men’s fashion. The great creative richness and energy of the contemporary Korean art scene and Korean popular culture offers its students an enviable backdrop for creative pursuits.
Tokyo Japan
In one of Japan’s capital’s most beautiful quarters , students at ESMOD Japan are at the beating heart of the bubbling fashion laboratory that is Tokyo. Students here develop a strong sense of look and detail, drawing on the energy of the Shibuya fashion neighbourhood, and benefiting from ancestral know-how in textiles and related arts of this culturally rich nation. Inspired by architecture, art, food, -everything around them! - they hatch unique styles, ricocheting from “kawaïi” to advanced structural experimentation.
Tunis / Sousse Tunisia
Tunisia’s history has resulted in cross-pollenization of many clothingand textiles traditions. ESMOD Tunis and ESMOD Sousse draw upon these traditions while modernizing it. What we see in Tunisia reflects a genuine fusion of styles.
Students’ creations show an urban learning in their work with natural and technical fibres, while holding on to tribal elements passed down in each culture. Accessorising with jewellery, bags, etc. is also an important part of their creative process. ESMOD’s two schools in Tunisia also demonstrate a high level of aptitude in lingerie and knitwear.
