Spectacular Summer Day Camp!

Head out to your neighborhood parks for summer concerts and movies presented by the Decatur Park District! For changes & cancellations due to inclement weather, visit decatur-parks.org.

May 26 - August 14 at the DISC Spend time with your friends at the DISC’s activity-filled camp that combines nature, recreation, and sports! You’ll take field trips and participate in fun activities. You can also create-a-camp by adding your favorite Park District programs like Zoo Kids, Zoo Crew, junior golf, B.O.S.S., and Greater Decatur Youth Band! Summer Teen Club

May 26 - August 14 at the DISC Want to meet new friends, swim at Fairview pool, take great field trips, climb the DISC rock wall, and play soccer, volleyball and basketball? If you’re aged 12 - 14, Summer Teen Club is just for you! Dates: M - F, May 26 - August 14 Code: #420009, section 01 - 59 for online registration Day Camp & Teen Club Fees and Information Time: 6:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. Location: DISC, 1295 W. Wood Fee: $155/week ($135 with resident discount) $37/day ($32 with resident discount) (15% discount for each additional sibling) Register: At least 48 hours in advance or by Thursday if registering for the following week. Community Yoga at Nelson Park Enjoy yoga in the great outdoors, with Sunday morning classes led by instructors from the Decatur Park District and area studios. A limited number of mats will be available. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring water to hydrate. No registration necessary. Cookin’ with the Chorale presented by WAND-17

May 30 & 31 • 6 p.m. Fairview Park Pavilion #1 Picnic in the park and enjoy music by the Greater Decatur Chorale! Directed by Cyndi Johnson, the Chorale celebrates 30 years of wonderful music in 2015 and features over 70 talented vocalists! This event is free and open to the public. Concessions and hot grills for cooking will be available at 5 p.m.

2015 Shake the Lake Concert Series Celebrate summer with live concerts in the park, held in conjunction with Neuhoff Media! Don’t miss these amazing shows! Tuesday Night Park Runs

Junior Golf Camp

Head to Fairview for a Tuesday night run in the park! This weekly event includes a half-mile Tot Trot, one-mile Fun Run or various distances up to seven miles. Come by yourself or bring the entire family! A distance race schedule is available at the DISC. Participants qualify for prize drawings donated by local merchants. Staley Striders Track & Field Club

Go the distance with the Staley Striders, sponsored by Tate & Lyle! Park Watch Program Park Watch helps prevent crimes in our parks, properties, and facilities. All tips are appreciated, and you may receive a reward for information leading to the arrest of people responsible for these crimes. • • •

Get into the swing of golf with this exciting 3-day camp! Beginners focus on coordination, simple techniques and motor skills. More advanced players take their swing to the next level, with golf pros on hand to further develop each individual’s game. Family Fun Days

June 6 - August 16 Great family rates! On weekends and holidays after 2:30 p.m., you can play 9 holes with one cart at all courses for just $30 a foursome, $25 a threesome, or $20 a twosome. Junior Clinic with LPGA Symetra Tour Pros

At this exciting, interactive clinic at Hickory Point, young golfers will learn tips from some of the world’s best women golfers who will be competing in the Decatur-Forsyth Classic on June 11 - 14. Team max is 6 players for 3v3 and 8 players for 4v4 with no goalkeeper. This challenging soccer camp will give campers exposure to the entire Central Illinois soccer community, with leadership from MidState Director Colin Bonner, and area coaches. Summer Little Kritters Soccer

In this 5-week program specially designed for U4 and U5 players, a story book is provided, which highlights 11 animals that possess unique soccer skills. Fall MidState Youth Soccer League (MYSL)

MidState Youth Soccer League focuses on fun, age-appropriate activities that allow the player the freedom to be creative, while also enhancing their soccer skills. All training sessions are coached by a MidState trainer with the help of parent volunteers. Saturday showcase games are played in the morning. Includes 8 training sessions and 6 games. Spring Dance Recital

You Ought to Be Dancin’! will feature the Park District’s dance students, aged 3 - adult, and high school senior dancers. Jerry Menz Arts Scholarship

The Jerry Menz Arts Scholarship provides opportunities for talented youth to succeed at the highest possible levels in the arts by offering scholarships for the Park District’s programs in voice, music, drama, and dance. Awards are based on staff recommendations, participation in Park District programs, and a demonstrated talent and passion for the performing arts. To be considered for this scholarship, complete an application available at the Poage Arts & Recreation Center (2020 N. Oakland) by May 11, 2015.

FootGolf at Hickory Point!

Rounds are free; $3.00 ball rental Decatur’s only FootGolf course can be found on the junior course at Hickory Point, featuring nine par-3 holes, varying in distance from 28 - 60 yards. This amazing sport merges golf and soccer into one. Players keep score like golf while kicking a soccer ball down the fairway toward the checkered flags and into the cup. Disc Golf in Nelson Park Looking for an exciting, active sport? Try disc golf at Nelson Park! Participants in this extension of Camp I Can learn Special Olympics sports, take field trips, learn how to become more independent, and have a great time!
