URBAN IDIOSYNCRASIES
Urban Idiosyncrasies explores that collection and curation of objects will help in forming a different notion of architecture. A curio is defined as an object of art which is valued as curosity or rarity. Architectural elements have been extracted from the Bonaventure Hotel, Los Angeles. The site is digitally processed and objects from site are re-imagined without their context which invokes inquistiveness in the users. The deconstruction and recombining of objects is designed to host a flower shop which acts as a continuation of the flower district.

The process began with digital extraction of details from a site in Downtown, Los Angeles. The details were extracted into a curio object where the object can be understood at 1:1 scale. The elements of the Bonaventure Hotel that have been extraced, range from a variance of different scales and uses. Two exterior staircases, and an interior spiral staircase have been extracted as architectural elements.

URBAN COMPLEXITIES
Urban Complexities, is an elevated sculptural garden as an extension to the plaza of MOCA in Downtown Los Angeles. The project aims to exemplify contemporary urban complexities through a hyper- dense urbanism. The experience through this dense urban space, derives from the paradigm of traditional English sculptural gardens. The project rethinks how art is displayed in the contemporary age of social media, where the experience is just as important as the art. This gives an experience of informal engagement, allowing the viewer to see art with a complexity of backgrounds. Planes are used to isolate pieces of art, developing more engaging user paths within the urban garden.
Components
Urban Complexities
The site is infilled with components allowing the design to have complexity within itself. The design comprises of 3 modular components which formulate an elevated platform. The components are - egress tower, structural decking, and an isolation wall. The tower acts as a conjoining element in the design where it showcases as an entry to the exhibition space. As we see the design, the components are growing towards the tower. This is achieved by developing an agent network with the tower being the attraction point, for the agents, furthermore manifesting the urban sculpture garden. vThis defines design as an addition to MOCA. As a transition into the next era of architecture, the design blends with the present structural ideology evolving into a network of modular components.

MATERIALS AND TECTONICS

The design proposes the replacement of the glass sails with ETFE panels for transformation. ETFE or Ethylene tetrafluoroethylene is a high strength plastic polymer which is designed to have a strong corrosion and heat resistance. When used in pneumatic panels, ETFE becomes a great roof material. The plastic is self cleaning and recyclable, decreasing the amount of maintenance needed. Each ETFE panel has life span of roughly 30 years. The material is lightweight and can span longer distances than glass, decreasing the amount of structure needed to support the panels. With ETFE we can decrease the thickness of the sails structure, giving the Fondation Louis Vuitton a more lightweight aesthetic. The reduction in Structure allows for visitors to have a clear view Paris and the surrounding Park. With the lack of views being the main critique of the current Fondation Louis Vuitton design. Continuing with the initial intention of the sails, ETFE is similar to fabric where it provides a soft exterior appearance. The use of fabric ETFE panels relates to the Fondation Louis Vuitton and the company’s program.

THESIS - PAY AS YOU GO
The project explore the idea of incremental housing as a solution to rapid urbanisation and demands of the society. The ambition is a new alternative highrise residential typology, in which its inhabitants are given unique units and allocations in accordance to specific zoning strategy within a tower structure, thus creating a phenomenal living experience through bonding and acquiring needs by each and every single individual. It is a reinterpretation of the balance between genericity and specificity aiming at formulating an extraordinary democratic living concept. The design process is unique and could be developed as a model to tackle rapid urban growth in cities.
Concept The proposal is a plug-in system where the modules when assembled create a living unit which can be moved from one place to the other. This is specially favorable for the working class population in metropolitan cities.
Thesis- Pay as you Go
Today, the ideology of group housing is changing. In this project, an attempt is made to use the traditional courtyard system in a contemporary way. The central courtyard acts as an interactive zone/family zone.

URBAN DESIGN, AGRA
The project has tried to rejuvenate the culture and other systems prevalent on site through an architectural intervention.A thorough study of the city of Agra is done to understand the growth of cities from macro to micro level. The different aspects which go in the making of a city are dealt with such as traffic systems, history of spaces, architecural interventions, cultures, occupations, economy, etc. The micro level study dives deeper exploring the same aspects for a particular region in the city and study how spaces have changed with time. The challenge and proposal was to intervene and propose an intervention which acts as an intermediate between the past and the present style of architecture in the area.

Belanganj was once called the heart of the city during the Mughal period, whereas now it serves as a ‘neglected’ wholesale market. It comprises of a rich built fabric that has undergone enormous transformation as a result of industrialization

Belanganj -Existing Fabric Study
Nolli’s Plan Built Condition Site lacks open spaces. The courtyards which earli- The fabric of Belanganj varies from good to dilapier served as open recreational spaces are now used dated depending on use and ownership as storage or for parking.
Built Use The residential typology of Belanganj has gradually shifted to mixed-use with commercialisation on ground floor.
Street Patterns There are two primary roads out of which Yamuna Kinara road is locomotive and Pandit Kali Charan Tiwari is mostly pedestrian.
Design Intervention
The streets, nodes and ghats are worked out such that they form a network which attracts tourists, improvises the lifestyle of the locals and demands for development and commercialization. Pocket parks have been created at various points near the area of the intervention for the social interaction of the local people. The faรงade of the commercial blocks matches the faรงade already existing in the surviving havelis of Belanganj. Thus the importance of space of time is preserved & only the function inside these havelis is altered used for the activation of the street. A Semi-open space has been created above the proposed underpass for a citylevel interaction and to increase the influx of tourists into the area.

MIXED-USE COMPLEX
The aim is to develop a Mixed Use complex including residential, commercial and retail zones based upon the study of site on the factors of growing need for commercial spaces in nearby areas which fail to cater to the growing population needs. Each individual unit in the housing tower is unique in itself because of its placement strategies. The design is proposed such that people living in an apartment also get the comfort, luxury and feeling of a bungalow in a highly chaotic city such as New Delhi. The design aims to uplift the traditional courtyard system and contemporarise it as per modern needs and demands.
