SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION & PAYMENT
SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION DATES
Resident registration begins: Tuesday, January 17 Online and walk-in open at 9am
Non-resident registration begins: Monday, January 23 Online and walk-in open at 9am
REGISTRATION PROCESS
When registering for our Day Camps, either register online at register.deerfieldparks.org or, download and fill out the Park District Registration Form, found at deerfieldparks.org/forms. When the park district offices are not open, you may drop off the completed form and payment in a drop box located inside and outside of the Jewett Park Community Center.
You must include a camp deposit or total payment with your registration form or online registration. Your full payment for all sessions of all camps is due on April 21, 2023 unless you are on a Camp Payment Plan.
NSSRA INCLUSION SUPPORT
The Deerfield Park District works with NSSRA (Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association) to provide individuals with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy participation in the summer day camp program while receiving the individualized support they need to succeed. This support is provided at no additional cost. For information on inclusion services or to make arrangements for accommodation contact Laura McCarty at 847-572-2615 or laura@deerfieldparks.org
NSSRA summer camps provide campers with recreation and leisure activities during the summer months. For more information about NSSRA Summer Camps, contact NSSRA at 847-509-9400.
CAMPER’S GRADE
Children must be entering the grade of the camp by 9/1/23.
RESIDENT & SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT
#109 & #113 RATES
Resident rates will apply to those who live within the park district boundaries. If a participant does not live within the park district boundaries but enrolls in a program that is held at a District 109 or 113 school and they reside in that school district, then they pay the resident rate, but cannot begin to register until the non-resident registration date.
FEES AND DEPOSITS
Resident and nonresident fees are listed for each camp. A $50 or $100 nontransferable, nonrefundable deposit is due at registration. This deposit is applicable to tuition. Camp fees can’t be prorated to accommodate vacations.
The park district, like so many other local businesses, feels the constraints of a tight job market. We continue to be competitive with our wages to retain high caliber staff, often exceeding the mandated minimum wage requirements, and are proud to employ hundreds of Deerfield High School students. You may see an increase in camp fees in order to meet the standards we set for the care of your children.
CAMP PAYMENT PLAN
A camp payment plan is again offered for the 2023 camp season. Your camp fees can now be paid in four equal monthly payments through an automatic installment billing process. Installment billing must be set up as an automatic charge/debit to a credit card or from a bank account. All ACH and credit card charges are processed on the 15th day of February, March, April and May. The final payment is due May 15.
Please be aware that this is the only payment plan that will be offered for camp fees. If using the Camp Payment Plan, all camp fees must be paid in full by May 15 for participants to attend camp. For more information and/or enrollment forms for this payment option, please contact the registration office at 847-945-0650, on or before February 3, 2023.
CAMP REFUND POLICY
Two weeks prior to the first day of camp, you may receive a refund for camp fees less the $50 or $100 deposit. Within the two weeks prior to the first day of camp, refunds will be granted only if the spot can be filled by another camper, for medical reasons or if you are moving outside of the park district. In these cases, the $50 or $100 deposit will be deducted and the refund will be prorated based on when participation ends. If your child is unable to continue in a program because of a medical problem, you must submit a letter from your doctor on their letterhead in order to receive a refund. If you are moving out of the district, in order to obtain a refund, you must submit proof in writing that you are moving. For more information, please call the registration office at 847-945-0650
CAMP SITES
Summer camp locations listed in this brochure may change due to Deerfield Public School scheduling. Staff will advise if changes occur.
PARENT MANUAL
Parent manuals will be emailed the third week of April which will include detailed information about your child’s camp participation, including how to complete your child’s online health history, allergy action plan and buddy request (if allowed).
PARTICIPANT CONDUCT
The Deerfield Park District reserves the right to suspend, expel or deny participation in any program or facility to any person whose behavior materially interferes or disrupts the quality of those offerings, the enjoyment of them by other participants or the ability of staff to conduct or manage the activities or facilities.
A child’s parent or guardian will be notified of the first incident; the second incident shall require the presence of a parent at a meeting with the instructor and a Park District administrator/supervisor; a third incident may result in the expulsion or suspension of the child from the program, event or facility.
If a child engages in behavior(s) which may result in bodily harm to others, an immediate meeting with the parent may be called. If such behavior warrants it, immediate suspension or expulsion may result. Temporary suspension from participation due to misconduct will not entitle participant to a refund.
An adult shall receive one verbal or written warning. The second incident may result in suspension from the program, event or facility. If an adult physically strikes a person or object or throws an object at another person, or takes any other action that may pose a real threat of bodily harm to others, or is verbally abusive to others, they may immediately be suspended or expelled from the program or facility.

Early Childhood
Safety Town
In Safety Town, children will gain an awareness of safety measures. They will role play “real life” situations and learn how to react. They are trained to distinguish between what is safe and unsafe and will learn what to do when danger exists. Topics include street, bus, playground and house safety; field trip safety; railroad and animal dangers; poisons; strangers; fire safety and how to use the telephone in an emergency. Note: If your child has taken a summer Safety Town or a seasonal session, please do NOT sign up for this session as the material is repetitive.
