Robotics Club

Beginning Rhythmic Gymnastics
If you like music, dance, tumbling, and creativity, you have to try rhythmic gymnastics. It combines the beauty and artistry of dance with the strength and power of tumbling. Gymnasts perform routines to music using hand apparatus such as ribbons, balls, hoops, ropes and clubs. In the beginner class, girls will learn the basic body positions, elementary apparatus handling and musicality. Gymnasts may wear leotards or basic dance clothes. Mini Ninja Warriors
This fun movement-based class uses age-appropriate activities and equipment to enhance the child’s physical, mental, emotional and social development. Asylum Skateboard Private Lessons
Asylum instructors are ISCPD/SKATZ certified. Instructors teach high quality lessons in a sustained and progressive way. This is also a great leadership development program where children learn the fundamentals and safety of skateboarding. Private lessons are available for beginners, intermediate or advanced level skateboarders.
PRIVATE SKATEBOARD LESSONS
Activity-Sect. 333014-01 $60 per 1-hour lesson for residents/$74 non-residents from March 29 to June 5. Beginning March 29, private lessons are available at the Jewett Park Skate Park. Lessons are available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 4-5, 5-6, 6-7pm. Lessons are available on Saturdays from 9-10am, 10-11am and 11am-12pm. A 48-hour registration is required.

Fencing
Improve coordination, cardiovascular fitness, reflexes, muscle tone, poise and confidence through the elegant sport of fencing. The class is led by Maitre d’Armes Marek P. Stepien, a competitor in the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games, USA National Champion and NCAA-coach (NCAA Champion 2011 University of Notre Dame). Dodgeball
This program provides participants with an opportunity to play the popular game in a safe and supervised environment. The program uses super soft balls and safety is stressed during game play. Outdoor Kids Yoga
This class is run by professional yoga instructors from Chicago Loves Dance. We supply the mats all you need to do is come ready for some yoga and stretch! In this class kids will learn beginning yoga movements, terms, and yoga-based games to make learning fun. Yoga in early childhood is wonderful for improving listening skills, building self-esteem, and supporting social and emotional learning. In the case of inclement weather the class will move indoors. The next step in basketball instruction, this class will build upon the fundamentals taught in the Basketball 101 class. A slightly faster paced environment will be geared around competitive play, encouraging tactics such as attacking the basket and aggressive defense. Gather your friends and build your own athletic program! Do you want to participate in some of the amazing programs the Deerfield Park District has to offer, but are worried about being in a class with others that you may not know? We can help you shape your own recreation “pod” experience with your friends. The Deerfield Park District is partnering with Hot Shots Sports to bring you this program. Your “pod” can have up to nine kids.
