Drawing and Painting

Come discover the artist inside you! In this studio class, we will explore different techniques in a variety of media including, pencil, watercolor, acrylic paint, pastel and more. Although the focus will primarily be on drawing and painting realistically, you can express your creativity and imagination in lots of ways, learn new things and most importantly have fun! Teen Studio Painting and Drawing

Youth Yoga

This class is run by professional yoga instructors from Chicago Loves Dance. In this class kids will learn beginning yoga movements, terms, and yoga-based games to make learning fun. Yoga is wonderful for improving listening skills, building self-esteem, and supporting social and emotional learnings as well as managing stress and relaxation in adolescence. Tumbling/Gymnastics

Under the creative direction of skilled Chicago Loves Dance break dancers students will learn tumbling and gymnastics. Everyone Has Fun! Build Your Own Athletic Program

Gather your friends and build your own athletic program! Do you want to participate in some of the amazing programs the Deerfield Park District has to offer, but are worried about being in a class with others that you may not know? We can help you shape your own recreation “pod” experience with your friends. The Deerfield Park District is partnering with Hot Shots Sports to bring you this program. Your “pod” can have up to nine kids. Game Time Basketball

One of the best ways to develop your basketball skills is through game play, and in Game Time you do just that. Each week, basketball players are challenged through various games including 1-on-1, 3-on-3 and 5-on-5. Coaches referee and guide the class to enhance the players understanding of the game. Soccer 101

Players are introduced to the fundamentals of soccer tactics such as passing the ball, offensive moves, defensive moves, keeping/controlling the ball and taking the ball away from the opposing team. Players learn to score and prevent goals. Physical endurance and fitness are emphasized while touching the ball. The next step in basketball instruction, this class will build upon the fundamentals taught in the Basketball 101 class. A slightly faster paced environment will be geared around competitive play, encouraging tactics such as attacking the basket and aggressive defense. Skateboarding Lessons

Private skateboarding lessons at the new Deerfield Park District skatepark are available from the Asylum Skatepark. The instructors are ISCPD/SKATZ certified and teach high quality lessons in a sustained and progressive way. This is also a great leadership development program where children learn the fundamentals and safety of skateboarding. Private lessons are available for beginners, intermediate or advanced level skateboarders. 48 hours advance notice required. Beginning Rhythmic Gymnastics

If you like music, dance, tumbling, and creativity, you have to try rhythmic gymnastics. It combines the beauty and artistry of dance with the strength and power of tumbling. Gymnasts perform routines to music using hand apparatus such as ribbons, balls, hoops, ropes and clubs. In the beginner class, girls will learn the basic body positions, elementary apparatus handling and musicality. Gymnasts may wear leotards or basic dance clothes.
