RoboTHINK Family Battle Royale Workshop

Have fun with your family and learn how to build robots, then battle your creations against other robots in our exciting workshop! Price is based on a team of two consisting of one adult and one child up to 12 years of age. Using RoboThink’s innovative robotics bricks, motors, axles and gears, each team builds their own robot and engages them in a battle royale. Holiday Ornament Workshop

This indoor workshop will give students an opportunity to create some fun and decorative pieces perfect for the Winter season. Projects will be self-guided with creativity encouraged! Students will be given their own space and materials. Tables will be spaced for physical distancing. During the workshop students will create and glaze their projects. Projects will need to be dried and fired in the kiln after the workshop. The following week the projects will be available for pick-up during normal business hours. Noon Years Eve - Craft Filled Countdown

Why wait until midnight to have fun? Children will be able to create and decorate their own festive New Year’s Eve accessories. Families will be given their own space and materials. Sweetheart Gram

Send your valentine a little love! Small, personalized boxes (approximately 3-4-inch diameter) filled with individually wrapped candy (no chocolate) will be available for pick-up at Jewett Park Community Center the week of February 8. Registration must be received by January 29. Registrant’s first name (as entered in RecTrac) will be used on the box. (No refunds will be given for canceled/unclaimed boxes.) Parents’ Night Out

Are your kids ready for a night out? Bring them to the Jewett Park Community Center for an evening of supervised, socially distanced fun of creating their own vehicle out of a cardboard box with prepackaged supplies for our drive-in movie! Individually packaged slices of pizza will be provided for dinner with a small bottle of water. Masks are required for staff and participants for the duration of the program, except for dinner. Staff will ensure all participants are spaced a minimum of 6ft apart during dinner and while creating their vehicle and watching the movie. Use section 01 when registering the first child in each family and section 02 for each additional sibling per family. All safety guidelines outlined by the CDC, DCEO, and IDPH will be followed. Family Minute to Win It

Have fun while competing against other local families. This year’s competition will be VIRTURAL from the comfort of your own home and have a flexible time frame to meet the needs of your family. Most events are silly in nature. Equipment (one set per twosome), score sheets and the activities/instructions will be available the week prior to the event for pick-up at Jewett Park Community Center. Participants will have until March 7 to complete the activities and return the scorecard. Winners will be announced on March 8 via email to all participants. Prizes will be awarded to the top adult scorer and top child scorer in each category. (*Deerfield Park District reserves the right to split the children’s group into multiple age groups based on enrollment.) Scores will be recorded using the honor system. Fee is per twosome. Additional child can be added for $3 (child will share the equipment of the other family members). Registration must be received by February 19.
