Since 1983, Deerfield Park Foundation (DPF), has worked to improve and beautify the parks and facilities of the Deerfield Park District. The Foundation provides assistance for residents in serious financial need to participate in recreation programs, provide accessibility, environmental and other projects. To accomplish its goals DPF solicits tax-deductible contributions and conducts fund-raising activities. YOUR DONATIONS BENEFIT

General Information for Swim Lessons
The Illinois Department of Public Health requires that all children who are not toilet trained must wear swim diapers and tight fitting rubber/vinyl pants under swim suits. This rule will be strictly enforced. For more information contact Jeffrey Napolski at 847-572-2626 or jeffn@deerfieldparks.org
Parent Tot Swim
Join fun and effective swim games and songs designed to engage and excite your infant or toddler. This class gives parents tools to improve their little one’s joy and skills in the water. Learn how to hold a child for different glides, go underwater, pass and jump in. We’ll use games, songs and guided activities to have fun while learning. These classes require you register for each day you wish to attend; registration by day gives you flexibility to only attend days you’re available. Guppies Toddler Swim
Is your toddler ready to venture into water with a group? Have your 2 - 4 year old join these classes taught in the beach-like shallow end of Mitchell pool. They’ll explore water games, learn basics of floating and play and have supervised self-guided time with lifejackets. This is the perfect class for the adventurous kids looking to improve their water independence and safety with an instructor. These classes require you register for each day you wish to attend; registration by day gives you flexibility to only attend days you’re available. Open to all abilities and levels. Swimmers will participate in fun and effective progressive skills coupled with exciting challenges to incite joy and learning. Swimmers will be taught to their level ability; from going underwater, to glides, to front crawl, to backstroke, butterfly and breaststroke! They’ll learn and have fun. These lessons run in 2 week sessions on the section specific days. In event of bad weather, we’ll work with you to provide a makeup. Advanced Swim Lessons
Thinking about COHO Swim Club? Want more advanced skill work to prepare for a competitive swim team? These lessons will use similar instruction as the swim team to teach freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. Appropriate to swimmers that are comfortable in the diving well, have a basic understanding of freestyle and can tread water. Swimmers will follow fun and effective skill progressions mixed with exciting challenges to improve their tryout chances. These classes require you register for each day you wish to attend; registration by day gives you flexibility to only attend days you’re available. Jr. Lifeguard
Want to be a future lifeguard someday? In the Jr. Lifeguarding class, you will receive instruction in water safety, First Aid & CPR skills, teamwork and other lifeguarding/leadership skills. Students must be able to swim the length of the pool. Students should bring a towel and wear a swimsuit to all classes. If you are 15 years old and successfully complete the class, you could receive a job for the remainder of the summer. Successful completion of the class does not guarantee a job.
