Mike Bavier

Mike has worked 22 golf seasons at the Deerfield Golf Club. He is the Golf Course Superintendent overseeing maintenance and landscaping duties on the golf course as well as coordinating projects from drainage installation to renovation work. He enjoys providing a fun, recreational adventure for our golfing patrons and shares that working for the Deerfield Park District has provided him amazing and challenging experiences.

He is a proud member of the Golf Course Superintendent Association of America and the Midwest Association of Golf Course Superintendents. Mike’s love of golf and golf courses began many years ago when he grew up locally in Arlington Heights playing a lot of golf at Inverness Country Club in Palatine where his father was the golf course superintendent for 39 years.

Outside of work, with his beautiful wife Kim and twin teenage boys Bryce and Jacob, he enjoys coaching youth baseball and soccer, watching and playing all sports, traveling with his family, bicycling, hiking, gardening, pickleball and watching movies.

Mike’s wise advice is, “Take your time and do it right the first time. It’s a marathon not a sprint.”
