Designed by famed golf course designer Edward Lawrence Packard, the course measures nearly 6,900 yards from the championship tees; however, the course now offers seven sets of tees that will challenge the expert yet afford the beginning golfer a very playable and pleasurable experience.

The Deerfield Golf Club and Learning Center’s 9 hole league plays on Wednesdays with tee times between 4:15 pm and 4:55 pm. • Handicapped League is open to any 2-person team. • 2-person teams competing in a modified match play format. (Weekly stroke play - net scores) • 8 points weekly, 2 for each individual match & 4 for a team match. • Pick your own partner for entire year. (No substitutes required)

• Season ending prizes for top 2 teams in first & second half of season. (Excludes ties) • Annual dues $125 per person and includes: weekly scoring, prizes, and year end banquet. • Sign Up Deadline Saturday, April 28. • Play begins Wed, May 2 and continues weekly through August 22.

Our state of the art Learning Center includes both grass and matted hitting areas, a separate pitching and chipping green with a sand bunker, an additional chipping and putting green, and two large putting greens.

Our Instructors tailor a program to meet individual needs, goals and time availability in order to improve your game. Junior Golf programs ages 3 - 5 Tiny Tykes Golf This program is specifically designed for children ages 3-5 years old. Kids will learn the basic fundamentals of golf in a game oriented atmosphere. US Kids Certified Golf Instructors are aware of the challenges that come with teaching kids of this age, and have put together a curriculum that keep kids of all ages engaged and focused through fun and exciting game based activities. What is

Start Smart Golf Instruction? Start Smart is a multilevel junior golf development program appropriate for children 5-10 years old. The program teaches children the proper golf skills in a game based environment geared towards having fun. Level 1 uses SNAG golf equipment for a fun, easy and successful introduction to the game. Junior Golf programs ages 5 - 10 Start Smart Golf Level 2

Start Smart Golf Level 3

Parents continue to participate in this adult/child combination class. Level 2 builds on the basics taught in the Level 1 class and expands on the technique of full swing, chipping and putting. Junior sized golf clubs are introduced to the students using fun and developmentally appropriate learning methods.

Students transition from a Parent/Child focus to player independent learning. This class provides the opportunity to reinforce and build on the skills acquired in Levels 1 and 2. Students learn golf course management, rules of the game and etiquette in a positive learning environment. Successful completion allows students to enter the Little Linksters Golf League or PGA Jr. League.

Junior Golf programs ages 8 - 18 Winter Junior Tee Level

Junior Tee Level

Taught by our LPGA and PGA Professionals, this program develops a junior golfer’s basic knowledge and technique in all aspects of the game: full swing, putting and chipping. Continued education throughout the off season is a great way for any junior golfer to prepare for the spring season. Participants completing this section are encouraged to enroll in the Junior Golf half day or full day camps and the PGA Junior League.

Junior Competitive Practice This program is designed for the junior player who wants to play competitive golf. Making transitions such as, USKIDS to IJGA, IJGA to MAJGT or AJGA to college level, can be challenging and intimidating so we have designed a program that will guide you through the process. The curriculum is geared towards the individual players needs to strengthen weaknesses and promote additional development in areas that are already strong. A minimum of small group supervised practice hours and group instruction is required. This class contains 40 hours of instruction and new student evaluations may be required to verify ability level. Junior Golf Leagues Little Linksters Golf League

Deerfield Warrior Junior Travel Golf Team

With the basics under their belts, the next step is to experience play on the golf course. Children graduating from Start Smart Golf, Level 3 move to the course with the Little Linksters Golf League. Parents participate by caddying for their child. Children ease into the game, learning to keep score and compete with their peers. (Fee $250 per parent/child, plus a weekly greens fee of $9 per child)

If one of your juniors goals is to play golf at the high school level, our Deerfield Warrior Junior Golf Travel Team is for you. This is a great way for Junior Golfers to prepare for competition at the Junior High and High School levels. Summer teams meet twice a week for practice and play a Monday tournament round each week. During the spring and fall, tournament rounds are moved to Saturday or Sunday. PGA Junior League Golf Team

Registration for this activity will be through the PGA Jr League website at http://www.pgajrleague.com/register PGA Junior League Golf is a fun, social and inclusive opportunity for boys and girls. Players compete under the direction of a PGA & LPGA Professional Captain in a popular 2-player scramble format which reinforces the team concept. Junior Golf Full Day Camp

This fun half day golf camp, is designed for junior golfers who want to learn the basics of putting, chipping, pitching, bunkers and on-course play. Participants must have their own golf clubs. Upon completion junior golfers are encouraged to play in our PGA Junior League.

This golf camp is more intense, and practice is taken more seriously than in our other junior golf programs. Camp meets for 6.5 hours daily and covers all aspects of golf including on course play. This camp is structured to prepare a junior golfer to start their competitive golf journey. Daily snacks, lunch, and weekly prizes are provided. Participants must have their own golf clubs. Upon completion, junior golfers are encouraged to play in our PGA Junior League.

Golf is a game for a lifetime. These classes are designed to give a beginner golfer the fundamentals of the game prior to the spring golf season. The program is taught by our LPGA & PGA professionals.

We will get you ready for the golf season. Join us for a two-hour session that will refresh your golf game. Taught by our LPGA and PGA Golf professionals, covers the grip, stance, posture, aiming and basics of the golf swing in a relaxed group lesson setting. Ladies Only Learning Sessions

Taught by LGPA Professional Trena McDaniel, learn the skills and knowledge to break 100, 90 or 80. Each student is mentored one-onone with computerized video technology. You will receive unlimited access to your videos, which allow you to review instruction and drills long after you leave the school. Each day students will learn full swing, short game and putting skills and will spend time on the golf course working on shot making skills to lower your score as well as practice techniques for lasting improvement. Experience our professional and personal approach to learning.

All season passes except for corporate pass types are non-transferable and subject to regulations of the Deerfield Park District. This privilege may be revoked without refund for violation of rules & regulations. Applications with false information will be cause for revocation of privilege without any refund. Limited tickets are sold to players under the agreement that they are good only during the golf season for which they were purchased. Limited tickets are not transferable and must be used by the purchaser only.

Please read this section carefully and be aware that in signing up and participating in the above activity, you will be expressly assuming the risk and legal liability, and waiving releasing all claims for injuries, damages or loss which you or your minor child/ ward might sustain as a result of participating in any and all activities associated with this program. I recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury to participants in this activity, and I voluntarily agree to assume the full risk of any and all injuries, damage or loss, regardless of severity, that my minor child/ward or I may sustain as a result of said participation. Permanent Weekend Tee Time and Weekday Day-Time League No Show Policy

If a weekend permanent starting time player or weekday daytime league player fails to cancel their individual tee time before 24 hours prior to scheduled play and does not play, they will be charged a “No Show Fee” equal to the current Resident 18 or 9 Hole Greens Fee that would apply to their tee time. The following exceptions to the “No Show Fee” will apply: when weather conditions warrant “Cart Paths Only;” when there has been a frost or lightning delay in the morning; when there has been 3/10 of an inch of precipitation over night as measured at the club on the morning of play; special circumstances such as Medical Emergencies, Auto Accidents, etc will be at the discretion of the club manager. By your signature and providing your credit card number as guarantee you have acknowledged and agree to the “No Show Policy.”

Annual Outing and League Play

The Deerfield Golf Club annually hosts between 33-36 total weekday and weekend outings. Typically these are mid-afternoon events with a few in the mornings. Additionally the club hosts numerous late afternoon / early evening leagues Monday thru Thursday as well as morning leagues on Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays.

Pace of Play Rules & Enforcement

The Deerfield Golf Club has a strictly enforced pace of play policy for season pass-holders. The timed pace of 2 hours and 11 minutes for 9 hole play and 4 hours and 21 minutes for 18 holes is deemed acceptable on non-cart path only days. (14 minute, 30 seconds per hole) If a player or group falls outside of the 14 minute 30 seconds per completed hole average they will be verbally warned to pick up pace to meet the target times noted above. If after the next 3-4 completed holes, the pace of the group exceeds the 14 minute 30 seconds per completed hole target time the group may be asked to skip a hole to meet pace requirements.
