Swim Instructor Training
Triathlon Brick Work
We will teach your son or daughter the skills needed to be a great swim instructor as well as a good employee. Students should bring a towel and wear a swimsuit to all classes, (one-piece swimsuit for girls is required).
This is a 90 minute workout stacking a 30 minute interval run on top of a 60 minute swim. What a great foundation for an effective multisport training program. This workout is designed for triathletes, but anyone searching for a solid cross-training opportunity is welcome to participate. Participants should have basic swimming skills.

Camp Bus Service
Camp Bus Service
Extended Camp Care
Camps with Bus Service: Trailblazers, Explorers, Sports Camp (excluding Tennis Camp & Specialty Sports Camps) Children who register for the bus transportation option will be picked up each morning at convenient stops within park district boundaries only. Depending on the number of children registered for this service and the route the bus follows, pickup time may begin 45 minutes to one hour before the starting time of the camp program. Once the last child is picked up on the route, the children will be delivered to their camp locations. Campers will be returned to the same stop after camp is over. Pickup and return times will vary based on the bus routes. Some children could be on the bus up to 45 minutes each way. We will do our best to plan routes so either the morning or afternoon route will be shorter than the other for participants. However, we cannot guarantee this depending on the addresses of the children who register for this service. Parents are encouraged to accompany their child(ren) to the bus stop and also to meet their child(ren) at the bus stop when camp is over. Bus stop location information will be mailed in early June to those who register for this service.
Parents may choose morning Extended Camp Care hours, afternoon hours, or both. Children in the morning session will be transported from the Jewett Park Community Center to their camp site. Those in the afternoon session will be picked up at their camp sites and dropped off at the Jewett Park Community Center. To register, please fill out the registration form and include full payment (in addition to camp deposits) with your form. All participants must attend a Deerfield Park District day camp listed in this brochure.

Learn to Swim Sun & Fun Camp
Transition from home to a day camp setting. The experience helps young children make an easy adjustment to preschool activities offered by the park district. Our goals are to expose children to many new experiences as well as help develop their social skills.
Learn to Swim is an optional add-on to Sun ‘N’ Fun. Your child will be transported by bus to Sachs Recreation Center for 30-minute swimming lessons. Lessons will focus on the four key strokes in swimming, as well as water skills like going underwater, blowing bubbles, floats, glides, and diving for objects.

Sun ‘N’ Fun
This camp has a low-key, noncompetitive yet structured atmosphere geared to the needs, interests and skills of the young child. The camp includes swimming lessons, games, crafts, drama, nature study and music and other activities. A low counselor-child ratio is maintained to personalize the activities, to ensure safety and to encourage each child’s sense of well-being.
Sun ‘N’ Fun features lots of outdoor play, including sand and water activities, outdoor games and crafts and trips to the wading pool in a low-key setting. We emphasize the social, emotional and physical development of our young campers. Location: Jewett Park Comm Ctr Age: 4 by 9/1/19 Instructor: Staff - TBA Min/Max: 10/28 Act#-Sec.
