The popular poet is quickly making a name for himself on the national spoken word circuit. In honor of National Poetry Month, the Defender is spotlighting some of Houston’s most talented Spoken Word artists.

It took nearly 40 years to do it but for the first time since 1979, the Prairie View A&M University men’s golf team won the SWAC championship. And their coach, Kevin Jennings, couldn’t be more proud.
