As we approach the halfway point in the NFL season, the 2010 version of the Houston Texans ranks as one of the league’s elite offensive units. They rank in the top five in total offense, top five in rushing and top 10 in passing. Starting running back Arian Foster, undrafted in 2009, ranks in the top five amongst rushers, along with such household names as Peterson and Johnson. What’s the common denominator? The running game has improved immensely. The untrained eye would attribute the success solely to the emergence of Arian Foster. If you probe a little deeper you will discover that at the beginning of most of Foster’s major jaunts, there is a bone-crunching block at the point of attack by #44, fullPhotos courtesy of the Texans #1 Right guard Antoine Caldwell, above, (college photo) and left tackle #76 Duane Brown, below are key components of the Texan new rushing attack.
