Welcome God has never failed at anything. And guess what? He is not about to start failing with you now... or ever! Just because we don’t know the solution to something, does not mean God does not know. Remember, He is the Creator of the universe. He created YOU. If anything is broken, He knows how to fix it. This is why we cannot afford to lose heart...ever! A very big welcome to the 1st edition of Sound Minds newsletter. The Word of God says in 2 Timothy 1:7 that God has given us a SOUND MIND. It does not matter what the psychiatrists or anyone for that matter has said. God’s Word still remains true and indestructible! God does not have to consult your medical records before He says anything about you. (cont’d on page 2)

The Power of Meditation The Word of God says we are what we think—”For as the thoughts of his hearts are, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7 Bible in Basic English). This shows the power of our thoughts and/or what we give our minds attention to. In Joshua 1:8, the children of Israel were instructed to meditate on the law (God’s Word), day and night in order to get good success. They were told to ‘observe to do’. In other words, they were to purposely do this. Sometimes, we meditate on the wrong things and wonder why things are not going so well. The Bible gives us the clue. If only we spend time meditating on the right

things, i.e., the Word, our lives soon enough will start going in the direction our meditations go. Stop meditating on the prognosis of what the doctors say about your case. Meditation on God’s word is the key to a successful life. Today many in the world have taken on the meditation concept but in a corrupted manner. As Christians, spend at least half an hour everyday musing on a scripture(s). You may not think anything is happening but your thoughts are being renewed. Take that scripture and let it guide your spirit and minister to you. Then begin to mutter the scrip-

Defying the Odds book The world can seem harsh and unsympathetic when it comes to mental illness. But the good news is that God is not! Medical science does its best. However, that best is not good enough for one wishing

to live totally free of mental sickness and its cruel stigmas. Few Christian messages directly address the subject, books on healing being no exception. (cont’d on page2 )

Patience is a fruit of the spirit. Many with mental illness, turn on loved ones trying to help them! Keep loving them.

It is not your fault that your loved one is experiencing mental health challenges. Do not condemn yourself. Faith does not work with self

-condemnation. √

Look ahead. Have a vision of what you want to see. God works with visions. Forget the pain of the past. Stop remembering what God has forgotten. Refuse to stagger. Abraham refused to stagger. When fear strikes, confess

Romans 4:20 –21. Refuse to be moved by what you see. Learn to disengage fear! Against hope, Abraham believed in hope (see Romans 4:18). No situation is hopeless with God!

Welcome (Cont’d) As Christians, we must learn to play our lives backwards. This means we look at what God says about us and if our lives are not according to His Word, we use that Word to re-align/re-adjust ourselves through our declarations and confessions of faith. We keep doing so till we see what God sees. Pretty much the same as we do

with our mirrors at home. We use our mirrors to adjust our appearance till we look the way we want to. Use the mirror of God’s Word to adjust yourself to who God says you are. Well, enjoy this issue and all future issues. I would love to hear from you. Send your comments on the CONTACT page on http://www.zoeonah.com God Bless you!
