Following an environmental inspection, the mining activities had to be suspended. Our customer had to urgently treat both contaminated groundwater and contact water in an adequate way to meet environmental guidelines, before re-injection and/or discharge. Reliable and flexible, the mobile solution proposed by OMOBILE allowed the client to be below the European drinking water regulation levels and below discharge limits. Thanks to our solution, our customer was able to re-start its mining activity and to limit financial consequences.
Due to the mining & volcanic activity, the groundwater and contact water were contaminated with Boron, Arsenic, Fluoride, Suspended Solids and Total Dissolved Solids. Those waters had to be treated before discharge in order to be below the European drinking water limitation levels. A fast, reliable and flexible solution was required to regain permission, as soon as possible, from the environmental authorities to re-start the mining activity.
The solution proposed by OMOBILE was a mobile treatment installation delivered in a very short time following the client’s request, including a 24hr/7day full Operation and Maintenance service. OMOBILE set up a mobile installation consisting of softening, oxydation, multimedia filtration, and reverse osmosis with seawater membranes to treat up to 300 m³/h of flow, with a high recovery rate. With this mobile solution, OMOBILE was able to treat Boron, Arsenic, Fluoride, Suspended Solids and Total Dissolved Solids to far below European drinking water limits.
Ability to re-start the mining activity The proposed solution by OMOBILE enabled the client to quickly treat the contaminated waters and to regain environmental permission which allowed them to re-start the mining activities.
Ability to build a permanent treatment plant The OMOBILE solution allowed the customer to test the treatment line as a pilot and to approve the best technical solution before building a permanent treatment plant.
