Due to the presence of Total Organic Carbon in the produced deminwater, the steam quality wasn’t within their design limits and so the turbine of the new power plant couldn’t be commissioned. Our customer had to urgently treat this contaminated deminwater. Reliable and flexible, the solution proposed by OMOBILE enabled the client to meet the exacting design limits of the turbine. Thanks to our solution, our customer was able to start its electricity production within the scheduled timeframe and to limit financial consequences.


The problem was the presence of Total Organic Carbon (TOC) in the surface water released by oxidation and not retained by the existing resin demin plant; it decomposes at the high pressure boiler working conditions and increases the conductivity of the produced steam. This increase in conductivity put the quality of the produced steam above the design limits of the turbine specifications, so it couldn’t be commissioned. An urgent, reliable and flexible solution was required to produce as soon as possible the correct steam quality, so enabling the commissioning of the turbine and to start electricity production.

The solution proposed by OMOBILE consisted of a fully automated mobile water installation, delivered in very quickly, and able to treat the contaminated deminwater at very high flow and with limited waste water production. OMOBILE set up a mobile installation consisting of cartridge filtration and reverse osmosis to treat up to 130 mÂł/h of flow per unit, with a recovery rate up to 95%. With this mobile solution, OMOBILE was able to remove the TOC necessary to keep the steam conductivity below its design limitation levels.

Ability to continue the commissioning of the turbine & power plant The proposed solution by OMOBILE allowed the client to finish the overall commissioning of the turbine & power plant within the scheduled timeframe.

Ability to evaluate technical solution The OMOBILE solution allowed the customer to test and validate the treatment line as a pilot trial and to approve the best technical solution before building a permanent treatment plant.
