Dear Readers, At De Gruyter, we are developing a new global publishing program in Politics/ International Relations, Sociology and Human Geography. It focusses on a broad s pectrum of contemporary and interdisciplinary topics. They range from international relations and comparative politics to European and American politics, including migration, race, innovation, cultural and digital sociology, social policy and health sociology (also pandemic research). We publish academic research, handbooks in up-and-upcoming areas, very-fast-turnaround digital-first interventions and paperback-first academic trade titles. Our books communicate across the divide between academia, practitioners, policymakers and the academic trade markets. We have an established Open Access program and our titles are promoted and sold via our established University Partnership programs which include most US and European University Presses. We are seeking new publishing proposals. If you would like to discuss a project informally, please drop me a line.

Edited by Rebecca Lemos Igreja and Camilo Negri, University of Brasilia and Latin American College of Global Studies — FLACSO Brazil. The series builds on the concept that specific Latin American perspectives, theoretical frameworks, and empirical research reflect the debate about broader global issues in the context of multidimensional and globalized trends. Through a diversified selection of contributors, the series will centre on cross-regional analyses and promote interdisciplinary, multi-situated, empirical and comparative approaches. Latin America in Perspective: Society, Culture and Politics will be a forum for the discussion of timely issues around local and regional societal, political, and judicial topics, exploring issues such as inequalities and social justice. Concentrating on publications with a rigorous empirical focus, the series aims to inspire broader theoretical propositions and debates informed by current international trends in methodology and theory. ISSN: 2749-9367 / e-ISSN 2749-9375

SERIES FACING CONTEMPORARY TERRORISM Edited by Jean-François Caron, Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan, and University of Opole, Poland.

Terrorism plays an enormous role in the way our world is shaped today. Facing Contemporary Terrorism discusses the differences between ancient and new terrorism and provides an understanding of the various political and ethical challenges associated with this phenomenon. Based on case-studies of terrorist organizations, the series offers new intellectually rigorous approaches on how this form of political violence can be effectively fought through novel means of actions, and how the morality of warfare is affected by the elusive enemy. Volumes in this series will contribute to moving the study of terrorism into new interdisciplinary directions and to providing scholars with the best possible examination of this political threat. SERIES VIRAL POLITICS Edited by Raj Chari and Isabel Rozas, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. This series addresses viral politics with an initial focus on the ‘COVID phenomenon’: more than a viral infection, COVID-19 has impacted how scientists find solutions, what governments do, and how societies react. With this multi-dimensional impact in mind, the series captures the interdisciplinary investigation that seeks to understand this phenomenon and address future challenges when other pandemics or health emergencies arise. Its genesis is in the series’ first book that examines the science and politics of COVID-19, offering insights on drug and vaccine development and the importance of public policy in the absence of quick scientific solutions. Subsequent books will continue with this approach by bringing social and natural science investigation together. With an editorial advisory board of leading scholars across various fields, the series of short and accessible books is aimed to be the one-stop shop for readers from different disciplines, including academics, policymakers, and the general public. The insights into this phenomenon will impact and shape many aspects of our lives for years to come. ISSN: 2747-6863 / e-ISSN 2747-6871
