LET S TAKE A WALK Chafford Hundred is a turn of the 21st century settlement built just outside Greater London between Grays and South Ockendon in the Borough of Thurrock. Its station also serves, to its western side, Lakeside Shopping Centre in the largely retail and distribution-dominated area of West Thurrock. It is located in the Chafford and North Stifford, and South Chafford wards of Thurrock.
Built on an area of 600 acres, northwest of Grays Town centre. 2/3rds of the site was previously used as a chalk quarry, the rest was agricultural land. Approximately 5,300 houses and flats have been built since 1989 on 353 acres of brownfield housing land. These areas have a variety of housing types which includes private sector housing as well as housing associations and retirement homes.

It opened in 1993. The name is re-used from the historic Hundred of Chafford, which covered a much larger area including parts of present-day Thurrock in Essex and the London Borough of Havering in Greater London. Housing ranges from one or two bedroom apartments up to five / six bedroom large houses and therefore the area caters for many, although property prices grew rapidly dring the late 1990s – The Evening Standard article, “the most coveted address in Britain by Nick Curtis in 2001 included properties in the new village This is not due to the architecture of the houses (mostly all very similar starter homes), but because it provides relatively affordable housing with public and recreation areas, as well as generally large private gardens, well connected to many jobs..
Chafford Hundred Lakeside railway station is a National Rail station located in Chafford Hundred in the borough of Thurrock in Essex, England. The station is owned by Network Rail and is managed by the c2c train operating company. It is situated on a branch of the London-Tilbury-Southend route from Fenchurch Street in London to Southend Central, and has an enclosed footbridge connection to the adjacent Lakeside Shopping Centre. The station was opened in 1993 and has one platform. Although outside London fare zones 1 to 6, the station became part of the Oyster card pay-as-you-go rail network in January 2010. The single track line through the area was opened in 1893 by the London, Tilbury and Southend Railway as part of a branch from Romford to Grays via Upminster.
Usage is moderate for a suburban station and increasing; to expand capacity the buildings were rebuilt in 2006. Ticket barriers are in operation. Thurrock council continue to spell it as Chafford Hundred, when in reality Chavvord Hundred is the most appropriate name and certainly appears to be how it’s pronounced by the scooter riding unwashed chav population of 6000. It’s a new housing estate spanning 3 miles across the waste chalk lands between Lakeside Shopping Centre and the celubrious Grays. The area was so named after the great god of the Chavs, Chavvord Hundred.
ACROSS THE By the late 20th century service on the line had been reduced to a relatively infrequent shuttle between Upminster and Grays, calling only at Ockendon. Following the opening of Lakeside Shopping Centre in 1990 a new single platform station was opened in 1993. Initially a free shuttle bus connected the station to the shopping centre, with a direct pedestrian bridge link replacing it in 2000. The shuttle train service was eventually extended beyond Upminster to Fenchurch Street and beyond Grays to Southend Central; with service levels increased to two trains an hour during railway operating hours.
although it would be some accomplishment to sell more drugs than they appear to consume. The main attire for a female Chavvord appears to be cap, shell suit (hoody style) and trainers. The main attire for a male Chavvord appears to be cap, shell suit (hoody style) and trainers. The easiest way of distinguishing between a male and female Chavvord is the fact that most males (under the age of 35) have a 50 cc scooter growing between their legs, without a helmet growing on their heads. The female Chav’s have had everything but a scooter between their legs. This is particularly apparent on Cumberland Road where there is an almost constant collection of both male and female
BRIDGE
Favourite hangouts for the Chavs are the overhead tunnel connecting Lakeside to Chavvord Hundred, the train station itself and outside the Bovis Homes showhome on Cumberland Road. Of all of these haunts Cumberland road appears to be the favourite. Many of the chavs live in Cumberland road or the attached Fenton Road and appear to be at least 2nd generation Chavs. Given the average price of a house in the area is well over £350K it’s not clear how all the mummy and daddy Chavs made enough money to buy their houses, perhaps-
the drug dealing and violence in the immediate area has helped,
Chavvords and a constant sounding of scooter horns outside the Bovis homes showhome. It is my belief that the Chavvords actually worship at the railings of the great Bovis showhome by offering up their unwashed as a sacrifice. They use the scooter horns as they are incapable of putting together a chant of more than two words, unless the second word is off. When the sacrifice isn’t taken up, as the great Chav God doesn’t actually live in the Bovis showhome, the Chavvords and their unwashed offerings retreat to the Bovis Homes car park, to consume drugs, stay dirty and toabuse local non Chavvords
