Mission Action Day A guide for students and sponsors on the De La Salle annual fundraiser.
What . . .
Mission Action Day, often referred to as “MAD Day” by students, is an annual fundraising event run by the College along with all other Lasallian Colleges in Australia and New Zealand in support of poor and marginalised students living in impoverished communities throughout Asia and the Pacific. This year, MAD Day is Thursday 1 April 2021. Students will set personal fundraising goals and fundraise until April. The entire College participates in a 13km walk, commencing and finishing at Basil Street Oval in East Malvern. The walk commences at 9am and takes 2- 3 hours to complete. In recent years, students at De La Salle have raised in excess of $100,000 annually.
The day is a day of celebration of life and a recognition of how fortunate we are. It reminds our students the importance of giving to others and how they can make a difference. We are extremely grateful to all contributors and sponsors for reinforcing and supporting this mission. We have transitioned to online sponsorship this year due to COVID-19, the College can no longer deal with cash transactions. The online process is easy and a step through is on the following page. Alternatively, students or a parent or a guardian can accept your cash payment and via their credit/debit card online, pay the same amount into their fundraising effort. Each student has been supplied a TryBooking link that allows them to track and supply sponsors all the required details to donate. It’s as easy as 1,2,3…
