COVER STORY

Hello there, campers! It’s going to be a summer of reading adventures at the Delaware County District Library. Our cover models, Gigi and Sophia, are just two daughters of Director Bryan Howard. (He has four!) They came in for an afternoon of library fun and a photoshoot in preparation for Summer Reading Club.

This summer DCDL is keeping you reading with a summer camp themed program. Camp DCDL follows our traditional time tracking method that you know and love. Reading during the summer helps to keep kids on track to learn the rest of the year. Studies have shown that just 15 minutes a day can be super effective. Use the log on page 11 to track your progress. Don’t forget to come in to the library to claim your prizes at six and 12 hours of reading! Reading books, audiobooks, magazines, and comics all count towards the goal. So does being read to by a caregiver. All reading, no matter how you do it, counts towards the 12 hour goal.
