Students who test into the ESL Program at the Basic I level are encouraged to focus on ESL courses for at least three semesters. Once students reach the Intermediate II level, students can take MATH and meet with an advisor to discuss other courses they will need to prepare for their majors.

Apply to the College • Visit www.dcc.edu. • Scroll over Admissions and select Apply Now. • Select Application for Admission. • Select Sign Up to create an account. • Enter an email and create a password to access your application information later. • Follow the prompt to complete the application.

Take the ESL Placement Test The ESL Placement Test will be offered remotely through Zoom: • Every Tuesday at 9 a.m. and 1 pm. • Every Thursday at 9 a.m. Space is limited to five students per testing session, so please follow the steps below to secure your test day and time: • Sign up for a test day and time here. Have your debit or credit card ready to pay the $15 testing fee. • After you sign up for the test, you will then receive an email from the Testing Center with a voucher number and a Zoom link for your test date and time. Please read this email carefully to confirm that you will be able to successfully take the test.

To take the test remotely, you will need a photo ID and a computer (desktop or laptop) with a reliable webcam and audio capabilities. You wil be required to share your screen through Zoom.

Please note that Zoom is not compatible with Chromebook. Please allow 48 hours for your test results to be processed. Provide an up-to-date email and phone number so that we can contact you when your test results are available.
