MISSION STATEMENT

Delgado’s English as a Second Language Program introduces students to American and New Orleans cultures and aims to improve students’ English reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in preparation for study at an American college or university.

PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon completion of the English-as-a-Second-Language Program, students will: • Demonstrate fluency in English writing, reading, listening, and speaking in a variety of academic and workforce settings. • Apply knowledge of cultural values and history, both of the United States and New Orleans.

PROGRAM INFORMATION

Schedule Options All levels of Conversation will meet via Zoom while Basic and Intermediate Grammar, Reading, and Composition will be offered in a virtual “live” format, so students will meet with these classes via Zoom and complete additional coursework online. Below is a schedule of when these classes meet via Zoom:

Monday 10 a.m. - 10:50 a.m. Composition 11 a.m. - 11:50 a.m. Grammar

Monday 7 p.m. - 8:15 p.m. Reading Tuesday 9:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. Reading 11 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Conversation

Tuesday 7 p.m. - 8:15 p.m. Composition

Day Classes Wednesday 10 a.m. - 10:50 a.m. Composition 11 a.m. - 11:50 a.m. Grammar Evening Classes Wednesday 7 p.m. - 8:15 p.m. Reading Thursday 9:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. Reading 11 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Conversation

Thursday 7 p.m. - 8:15 p.m. Composition Friday 10 a.m. - 10:50 a.m. Composition 11 a.m. - 11:50 a.m. Grammar

Students taking Basic and Intermediate classes will meet with their instructors and classmates via Zoom during the times scheduled here. The Advanced Conversation course will meet via Zoom as well. Advanced Grammar, Reading, and Composition will be traditional online classes, allowing students the flexibility to complete assignments at any time of the day or night.
