Career in National Defence Academy Being an Armed officer is one of the greatest tasks or jobs in our country. It is one of the most difficult yet prestigious jobs. One has to lead a life fraught with dangers as well as pride. The concerned candidate can join the National Defence Academy and hence be a part of the armed forces.In order to become a part of the National Defence Academy, one needs to take the NDA examination and hence qualify it in order to get admitted to the Academy. Eligibility Criteria One must fulfil the eligibility criteria specified below, in order to get into the National Defence Academy. Minimum qualification required for any candidate to join the army wing is to have passed intermediate from any board or passed from any affiliated institute. On the other hand, if one wants to join the Naval Wing or the Air Force they must have passed the 12 th class with maths and physics as the compulsory subjects.

Apart from the technical qualifications, there are many qualities and skills which one must have in order to clear the NDA exam. One must be courageous

and ready to face dire consequences at any point of time. They must possess the ability to take decisions quickly and easily.

NDA Examination It is a written test which comprises of two parts. Both the papers are objective in nature. The first paper is of 2 and half hours, which is purely based on mathematics. It is a 300 score test based on mathematical problems. The second test is based on general ability. It is a 600 marks paper which tests the candidate on his general awareness and many other subjects. The tests are purely objective.

Strategy for the examination One needs to pay attention to a few topics in order to get a good score in the NDA examination. For this one must start preparing right from their class 10 th examination or even after the 11th class examination. They must have the mathematical formulae on their tips and their concepts must be clear. Key topics for the first paper include trigonometry, geometry, mensuration, algebra, etc. not only this, one must keep in mind that they must maintain adequate speed so as to complete the paper on time and have right amount of time for attempting all the questions.
