Situated in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Notting Hill Methodist Church is surrounded by one of the most cosmopolitan districts of London with extremes of both wealth and poverty. Built in 1879 and originally known as Lancaster Road Wesleyan Methodist Church it was a typical Victorian edifice seating 1000 people. The organ was installed in 1886 and is still in use today. The church has always had a thriving
congregation and in the early years, the Sunday school classes were so large that they had to be housed in the local school. The Excel chair was chosen from samples supplied by Rosehill in September 2006. The samples were tried in the church for a couple of weekends and an order was placed on 19th October 2006. Delivery was requested for week commencing 4th December.

"In 2005, after much debate over the previous few years we finally embarked on a major scheme which involved the refurbishment of the church building, the adding of an extension, the creation of a courtyard and much else in terms of furnishings and fittings. The worship area in particular has been totally transformed and here the new seating from Rosehill is a significant feature. The versatility from Rosehill’s range of seating has been a real advantage. The mixture of armchairs and ordinary chairs provides seating for varying mobility needs. The addition of stacking chairs in a matching colour enables us to provide flexible seating in various side rooms and with the advantage of supplementing the seating in the main area when necessary."
C. L. Windsor and W.B. Jervis, Joint Property Managers Broomfield Methodist church, built 1911 is a very pretty and busy church. They hold so many different functions that for the past few years they have been considering embarking on a major scheme for the refurbishment of the church building. On 13th October 2005 Rosehill supplied 4 sample chairs to be tried and tested for their suitability. The chairs were well received and after the committee had tried them all a decision was reached to proceed with 110 Abbot chairs and 50 Millennium stacking chairs.
The order was received on 21st October 2005 and the chairs were delivered on 6th December 2005. Now with flexible seating the church can be used for small intimate meetings, large congregations or with tables for various functions.
