Tactical Anti-Aircraft Search Radar

GIRAFFE 75 is a mobile tactical anti-aircraft search radar and Command, Control and Communications system for shortrange air defense forces. The search radar and C3 system are all housed in a fully self-contained cabin. The radar is able to detect a fighter-size target at 50 km range and up to 10 km altitude. GIRAFFE 75 is a versatile member of the Ericsson GIRAFFE search radar family. The cabin fits most mediumsized cross-country trucks. The operational height of the radar antenna is 13 m above ground. With its dual-beam antenna and highly automated detection/tracking and threat evaluation capabilities, the GIRAFFE 75 ensures that air defense fire units have a very short reaction time. The radar has special detection channels for hovering helicopters and jamming. GIRAFFE 75 is designed to be operated by the smallest crew possible and allows for central combat control of as many as 20 fire units. It also incorporates a broadcast mode allowing target data to be passed to an unlimited number of other connected fire units. GIRAFFE 75 has a very low life-cycle cost as a direct result of its high reliability, efficient built-in test system and excellent maintainability.
