Pastor Marcus and First Lady Marinda Morrow
Our story began at a small wedding in Cedar Grove, NC. It was there that I noticed her, and heard the voice of GOD say, “that’s your wife.” I’m not sure if she noticed me, but it didn’t matter. My life was eternally changed from that very moment. A year passed, and we had the opportunity to meet again at my brother’s wedding. We performed a duet together. I caught the garter belt and she caught the bouquet. I wish I could say the rest is history because she gave me a tough time, and would not accept the inevitable! Needless to say, I persevered and we have been married now for over 25 years. We began to develop into an awesome duo. We shared our time together and we would often talk about our dreams. We would also discuss what we believed God was calling us to do and who we were to become. Marinda was and still is the most innovative and motivated person I know. She is driven and has a faith practice that is second to none. When we first met she was a single mother, with a one-year old son Mario, already practicing her entrepreneurial skills as a cosmetologist. Little did we know, but this would be the foundation for other business ventures for us. Over the next few years we were blessed to expand our family with a baby girl, Marisha and a son Marquiese. First Lady Marinda is the true definition of a Proverbs 31 woman. In July of 1994 I surrendered my life to Christ through the ministry of preaching the gospel. I was then licensed at New Jerusalem Freewill Baptist Church in Durham, North Carolina under Bishop Bennie Griffin. In addition to preaching, I continued to serve as the Minister of Music to several churches. I accepted the call to pastor in April 1996. Being led by GOD, my brother, Elder Thane Morrow, and I founded Victory In JESUS Ministries Inc. in Hillsborough NC. Our ministry began as an ensemble of singers and musicians. The ministry grew as a result of me teaching a group of friends at Bible Study. Under our leadership, Victory In Jesus Ministries has developed numerous ministries and continues to serve people in every capacity possible. Many milestones have been achieved and Victory In JESUS Ministries continues to thrive. Victory In JESUS Ministries will be embarking on a new building project that will ultimately provide many services and employment opportunities to our local communities.
VIJM’s motto is “Restoring Lives Through Teaching Victorious Living.” Now as Pastor and First Lady, we are continuing this exciting journey that would encompass both the secular and the spiritual realms. In May of 1998 my wife began Aunt Reni’s Day Care of Hillsborough NC. This business venture provides child care education for infants and school-age children. Marinda attended college in 2012 and obtained an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education. We now have plans to expand the day care to increase capacity to enable us to serve many more that are in need. In 2010 we founded an AAU Basketball organization named the Hillsborough Heat. During the four years this became an opportunity to encourage evangelism through basketball and athletics with a focus on teenage males. Beginning in 2012 we began providing home restoration services which included installing laminate, hardwood, and vinyl flooring. In addition to those services we also provide other carpentry work.

We also provide: Marital and pre-marital counseling, couples ministry, outreach ministry (helping those in need) and a list of other ministries that Victory In Jesus Ministries provides regularly. I attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University from 1985 -1990. I left school and worked odd jobs, never finding my niche. I would later go back to complete my education at A&T and obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Music, with a concentration in voice and trumpet. Along with Pastoring and leading a church, we also offer the following services: Musician (weddings and other events), Singer, Song Writer, Praise and Worship Workshop Lecturer, Music arranger, Vocal Coach, Piano Instructor (Lessons), Trumpet Lessons (All Brass Instruments). On April 15, 2016 we released my freshman project entitled “I Can’t Explain” a Contemporary Gospel four song EP. I wrote, arranged and performed all songs. I was nominated for the 2017 Rhythm of Gospel Music Awards in the Categories of: EP/ Digital Album of The Year, Contemporary Male Vocalist of The Year and Traditional Male Vocalist of The Year by the National Independent Gospel Music Association. On June 24 th, 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida, I was awarded and received awards in 2 categories: EP/Digital Album of the Year and Traditional Male Vocalist of The Year. Along with working in the pastorate, we continue to use our musical gifts as Worship Leaders. This enables us to enhance the worship experience at Victory In Jesus Ministries and wherever GOD directs. Throughout the year you will find us ministering at various conferences and conducting music workshops. The workshops focus on the proper and complete worship experience for The Body of CHRIST. I can truly say that our marriage is a joyous and happy one. It is certainly not a marriage without ups and downs and times of testing. But through it all we continue to grow in love. Marriage is ministry and requires twenty-fourhour attention. Together we serve as a model for countless Christian couples, pastors and ministry leaders. We are proof that not every marriage ends up in divorce. It still is a divine ordinance and should be referenced as such. We are proud business owners and proud parents of three children and extended parents to many more; and we are even more excited about our relationship with our CREATOR and LORD, JESUS CHRIST !!!!!
