Celebrating achievement and getting ready for recruitment! This spring has flown by and we have been busy hosting events and enjoying the end of the semester! In March, we had a Luau and met so many great potential new members. We also cohosted a philanthropy event with Delta Sig and participated in Greek Week. This April we had parents weekend and our annual philanthropy event, Cookout for CASA. Our events were very successful and we are so proud of all we have achieved together this spring!

Spring Events Masquerade Formal Formal was a night to remember! We had so much fun getting dressed up in gowns and masks! We headed down town to Chuck’s where we danced the night away with our dates.

Spring Luau We met so many amazing girls at our Luau! We served tropical mocktails and took photos with beach hats, sunglasses and surfboards! We had fun getting to know all the girls and can’t wait for recruitment in the fall!

Parents Weekend We were so glad to have our parents in town for Parents Weekend! We had a mixer, went to A-Day and attended Cookout for CASA with our families.

A-Day It was great to be back in Bryant Denny for the spring game! We loved having barbecue at the house and watching the tide roll with our sisters!

Thetas Tapped into The XXXI Lindsay Rieland and Courtney Rentas received the honor of being tapped into The XXXI, an honors society for 31 of the most outstanding and influential women at Alabama. Catherine Porter, a fellow Theta sister, tapped the two into the society, where they will proudly represent out house among the best and brightest at the University of Alabama. Lindsay Rieland is a Junior who currently serves as the Director of Community Development and Outreach for the Alabama Panhellenic Executive Council. We are so proud of all she has achieved, and admire her commitment to the Greek Community. Courtney Rentas has not only excelled individually, but also led our house to academic achievement in her time as Scholarship Director. We are so glad to see her honored in this way and are so proud of her accomplishments. Both Courtney and Lindsay were tapped in at a ceremony held on the mound in late March. Sisters came out to see the ceremony and support them. We could not think of two more deserving women, and we are proud to have Thetas be included in this prestigious group of women!

More Spring Events Order of Omega Banquet At the end of the semester, eight of our sisters were inducted into the Order of Omega, a prestigious Greek honor society. Additionally, one of our freshmen was recognized as the Most Outstanding Freshman. We are so proud of these women and their hard work!

Greek Week We loved wearing our jerseys and competing in intramurals during Greek Week! Girls painted their faces, made signs and cheered on their sisters during the events. We finished the week in third place overall and won first place in the basketball competition!

Kite Flight Kite Flight was the perfect way to celebrate before finals. We got dressed up and enjoyed crawfish and live music on the last Saturday of the spring semester. We had a blast dancing with our sisters!

Dog Days with Delta Sig We paired with Delta Sig for a philanthropy event benefitting the Humane Society of West Alabama. We had a great time playing with the puppies and supporting a great cause.

Spotlight on Philanthropy: Cookout for CASA This year’s big philanthropy event was a backyard barbecue called Cookout for CASA. Guests enjoyed hamburgers, hotdogs and french fries prepared by Theta’s infamous chefs. Actives, alumnae, families and friends all came out to support the cause. The house was full of people ready to enjoy an afternoon of fresh food, live music and good company. Mother Funk, a local band comprised of five Alabama students, set up in the den and played acoustic music throughout the event. We loved hearing them play! After eating, guests had the opportunity to take photos in the photo booth. Everyone had a blast snapping pictures with crazy hats and glasses to remember the event. Another popular attraction was the cotton candy machine, where we made our own pink and blue cotton candy. Cookout for CASA was a great success and raised almost $9,000 for CASA. We worked hard in the weeks prior to the cookout, passing out flyers on campus and wearing t-‐shirts to promote the event. Our efforts definitely

paid off, because Cookout for CASA was an event to remember! We were so glad to share this event with our families and friends, and we are so grateful for their donations and support!
