– Students applying to this program are currently registered nurses with either an associate degree or diploma degree. – Students often pursue their RN-BSN in order to obtain or maintain a management position. Students may also be preparing themselves for advanced study.

STUDENT ATHLETES

GET IN THE GAME You feel it when you wake up in the morning... anticipation. As game time gets closer, the feeling grows more intense. No matter the sport, there’s excitement in the air. As a student athlete, the pressure is on. Take part in one of the most competitive athletic programs in Division II sports. Or maybe you prefer screaming from the student section. Join your friends and get into the excitement. You can rest in the offseason. Hit the stands and cheer the green and white to another national championship.

The Statesmen and Lady Statesmen boast nine national championships, 56 regional crowns and 48 conference titles. Delta State University competes in 13 intercollegiate sports as a member of the Gulf South Conference.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

APPLY YOURSELF So here’s what it takes to get in. If you meet these minimum requirements you may be eligible for admission. To be sure, send Admissions your high school transcript and ACT/SAT scores. Admission Requirements

College Prep Curriculum

(through the class of 2011)

 ENGLISH: (4 Carnegie Units) Courses must require substantial communication skills  MATHEMATICS: (3 Units) Algebra I, Algebra II and Geometry  SCIENCE: (3 Units) Biology, Advanced Biology, Chemistry, Advanced Chemistry, Physical Science, Physics, Advanced Physics or any other science course with comparable rigor and content

Full admission to Delta State University will be granted to high school graduates who complete one of the following:  The College Prep Curriculum (CPC) with a minimum 3.2 GPA  The CPC with a minimum 2.5 GPA and a score of at least 16 on the ACT (at least 760 on the SAT)

 SOCIAL STUDIES: (3 Units) United States History (1 Unit), World History (1 Unit), Government (1/2 Unit), Economics (1/2 Unit) or Geography (1/2 Unit)  ADVANCED ELECTIVES: (2 Units) Foreign Language, World Geography, 4th Year Laboratory-based Science or 4th Year Mathematics

 The CPC with a class rank in the upper 50% and a score of at least 16 on the ACT (at least 760 on the SAT)  The CPC with a minimum 2.0 GPA and a score of at least 18 on the ACT (at least 860 on the SAT)  Satisfy the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) standards as a full qualifier under Division I guidelines

 COMPUTER APPLICATIONS: (1/2 Unit) Should include use of application packages, such as word processing and spreadsheets
