GOVERNMENT EXPERIENCE DeMaria Building Company has worked as a prime contractor to Governmental agencies for 39 of its 42 years in business. Since 1972, DeMaria has been providing construction services to local, state, and federal agencies. We have established ourselves as leaders in healthcare and energy construction with the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Army Corps of Engineers. Additionally, DeMaria is a preferred builder to universities, charter schools, the automotive industry, and numerous local government agencies. We were among the first prime contractors to partner with our government clients, and we continue to build relationships with those we work with. We are a diverse workforce. We employ military veterans, reservists, spouses of active duty personnel and minorities. It is not just our diversity, but our core values that set us apart from other construction companies. The average tenure of a DeMaria employee is over 12 years. 36 of our people have over 10 years and 9 members of our key staff has been with DeMaria for over 25 years. We promote from within where possible and base our hiring not just on knowledge or intelligence, but a shared set of values that we call The DeMaria Difference. We recognize the responsibility we accept when we build for the United States Government. We are serving our Nation’s Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines. We play a small but important part of healing the wounded, educating the children

of our armed forces’ personnel, and preserving the environment by way of building clean, renewable resource power plants. It is not a responsibility we take lightly. We encourage you to experience the DeMaria Difference.

Commitment to Small Business Utilization DeMaria has made a commitment to provide abundant opportunities to the small business community. Our internal goals are typically higher than those required by either the solicitation or the agency and we make every effort to reach or exceed them on every project we build. DeMaria utilizes numerous resources when identifying qualified small businesses within every region we work. We use the Dynamic Small Business search on the SBA website, CCR, and Vendor Information Pages on the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs website. We hold outreach events as well as attend and/or exhibit at small business conferences including SAME, National Veterans Conference, Department of Energy Small Business Conference, and multiple regional conferences with USACE, VA, JETC and SBA.

In addition to these efforts, Ed Dunne, a military veteran, serves as DeMaria’s Small Business Representative. His role as Vice President of Government Contracting is to provide continuous development of, as well as provide oversight to, the DeMaria Small Business Program. His experience in working with a leading SDVOSB helps him relate to the challenges some small businesses face with regard to bonding, staffing and the administrative functions required to perform work for the US Government. Part of Ed’s role is to encourage small business participation on every project, by working with our estimators and project managers to size subcontract packages appropriately in order to reduce or remove these barriers to entry.
