Mastering a basic is key to building your confidence in the kitchen. Once you conquer a basic dish, you'll be ready to start exploring different ways to reinvent it.
Roasted chicken thighs with potatoes is the perfect place to start. Chicken thighs are very forgiving which means they don't easily dry out. Plus, they are ideal for feeding large families because they are budget-friendly, yet flavorful.
BASIC INGREDIENTS
Chicken Thighs, Red Skin Potatoes, Veggie of Choice, Garlic, Olive Oil, Salt & Pepper
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 400ºF. In a skillet heat 1 to 2 tablespoons of Olive Oil. Sear Chicken Thighs on both sides until browned. Add Garlic and saute for 1 minute. In a separate bowl, toss Potatoes in 1/4 cup of Olive Oil. Add Salt and Pepper, then evenly distribute Potato mixture on your pan of choice.
Place browned Chicken on top of Potatoes and bake for 25-30 minutes.

One of the tastiest skills you can learn to master is the proper sear. Searing creates a crispy, browned outside, which helps hold in all the delicious flavors and juices.
Thoroughly pat dry the chicken thighs. Avoid excess moisture on the skin.
Don't flip the thighs too soon. Allow 4 to 5 minutes per side before turning. 1 2 3

TARTLETS TO THE RESCUE
Tartlets have many virtues. They’re cute and bite-size, easy to put together in a rush, great for strolling events, and who doesn’t love to sample multiple minis?
They can be made sweet or savory, and you can use anything from pie or phyllo dough to tortilla shells as the base. We've done some serious taste testing and discovered some classic, crowd-pleasing combinations.
1. Keep your dough cold. If dough begins to warm, place back in the fridge for 5 minutes.
2. Roll dough out very thin, until you can begin to see through it.
3. Once in the well, lightly pierce the bottom of the dough to prevent puffing.
4 Bake at 425°F for 6-8 minutes to get perfectly browned edges.
5. Make shells in large batches and freeze for future use.

½ c. Butter, softened
½ c. Brown Sugar
½ c. Sugar
1 Egg
2 tsp. Vanilla
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350°F.
1 c. Flour
½ tsp. Baking Soda
¼ tsp. Salt
1 c. Caramel Bits
1 tbsp. Natural bon Salt
Place the Square Flexipat Mold on a Perforated Baking Sheet, set aside.
Cream Butter, Brown Sugar, and Sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in Egg and Vanilla until fully incorporated. Stir in Flour, Baking Soda, and Salt until combined. Fold in Caramel Bits until evenly distributed. Spread evenly in the bottom of the Square Flexipat.
Bake for 15-17 minutes or until baked through. Once removed from the oven sprinkle the Natural bon Salt flakes evenly across the surface.
Allow to cool completely and slice into squares, or fun shapes.
