I have always been fascinated by the contradictions and complexities of architecture and believe that architecture will always be an intermediary between people and the world. Before construction, architecture fulfills the needs of people and nature, presenting the cultural heritage of the region and people's spirituality in a localized way. When it is built, it becomes itself, and people can find their emotional and spiritual values in it.

01 IDENTITY RESHAPE CAMP CENTERED ON TRANSFORMATION OF REFUGEE STATUS Site:Lampedusa Italy Independent Study Date:2023.11 Academic Type:Individual project Instructor:Zhiwen Instructor's Contact:archzhiwen@gmail.com

Lampedusa is the first springboard for North African refugees seeking asylum in Europe. On this small island of only 20 square kilometers, differences about resources, culture, religion and language are violently colliding. How should people approach this clash, tolerate it or stop it? How should the refugees overcome the difficulties they will face, both psychologically and physically? How should the original life of the indigenous people on the island be preserved, fought for or compromised? I create a new building that allows both refugees and indigenous people to enter at the same time. For the refugees, while guaranteeing the basic living space, different types of activity spaces are provided in order to overcome the problems caused by language and cultural differences. Besides, religious symbols are used to show how people from two different cultures understand each other’s similarities and differences.

The route of the refugee’s identity transformation creates an invisible barrier that is used as a wall at the junction of the sea and the island, while the lighthouse serves as a guide to lead the way. An accessible space can help Islamist refugees overcome the barrier. From there, they can choose to move on to their next home and complete their identity transition. 3

02 TALES OF REBIRTH FOCOUSED ON SIGHT,TASTE,SMELL,TOUCH AND SOUND

Site:Changsha China Grade:Central South University Spring 2022 Date:2022.6 Academic Course Name:Architectural Design Project (4) Type:Individual Project Instructor:Ying Song Instructor's Contact:songfly@cus.edu.cn

When a building loses its life in the course of history, how can he keep the building alive in the spirit of the past? When a community is forced to move away because nearby industries cannot support the daily lives of its residents, how can it carry out its proper mission? Through the application of architecture in the local context, I transformed the granary in the town of Tiaoma, continuing its mission of food storage, while integrating local industries, such as fisheries and floriculture, to create an eco-community that provides food as a dwelling place. This will revitalize the grain silo and provide convenience for the residents in the neighborhood.

CENTERED ON COLLEGE NEXUS OF SOLITUDE AND CONNECTION

Site:Changsha China Grade:Central South University Fall 2022 Date:2022.9 Academic Course Name:Design And Principle of Architecuture(5) Type:Individual Project Instructor:Weidong LI Instructor's Contact:701237@cus.edu.cn

As the primary participants in group activities, college students serve as a significant carrier of social events on campus, engaging in various types of social interactions almost constantly. Extroverts are capable of dominating entire spatial atmosphere filled with social activities and visual interaction. On the other hand, introverts face numerous challenges in terms of eye contact anxiety and isolated space. The project aims to achieve a balance between the mindsets of introverts and extroverts by creating an interior space that can be perceived as both inside and outside the walls ,incorporating a series of walls and windows to establish a sense of independence amidst constant flow of people.
