Tim Ward is serving his first season as an assistant coach on the Northwestern State staff.

Ward spent this past season as an assistant at Moberly Area Community College, where he helped MACC to a 28-7 record, the Midwest District and Region 16 titles and the second round of the NJCAA national tournament.

He was an associate head coach at Talladega College for one season as the NAIA member won 25 games and advanced to the second round of the national tournament.

Ward coached at NCAA D-II Arkansas Tech in 2019-20 after serving three seasons at his alma mater William Woods University.

Ward was a graduate assistant for two seasons before coaching his final season as an assistant with the Owls.

The Owls combined for 55 wins in his three seasons on staff, including advancing to the American Midwest Conference championship game in 2016-17.

Ward has also coached on various AAU teams during his different stops.

Ward played for two seasons at William Woods as a basketball player and track participant before finishing his career at Central Methodist.

He graduated with a bachelor’s in sports management and a master’s in athletic administration.
