Demur Headlines......... An all star cameo for Zoolander 2
It is official; the biggest fashion film of the year will be hitting our screens on 12th February 2016. That’s right, we have seen the trailer to Zoolander 2 and we’re really, really, ridiculously excited! The sequel will feature cameos from the likes of Kanye West, Justin Beiber, Lewis Hamilton and a few others. Ben Stiller and Owel Wilson return as male supermodels Derek Zoolander and Hansel still at each other’s throat as archenemies. Look out for Cara Delevingne who gets knocked over by Derek whilst he is driving and using a selfie stick at the same time
Eat whilst you shop only at Urban Outfitters Urban Outfitters certainly know the way to our hearts. The long standing clothing store recently bought out Pizzeria Vetri, which means very soon, US customers will be seeing the pizza concessionaries in their local Urban Outfitters. Now a shopping trip to Urban Outfitters will never be boring, because let’s face it, who would say no to pizza?! We hope something similar will be coming to the UK soon.
Victoria Beckham & Christopher patrons for Graduate Fashion Week Christopher Bailey, the chief creative and chief executive officer of Burberry, and Mrs Victoria Beckham have been appointed the first patrons to the annual fashion students’ showcase, Graduate fashion week. Graduate fashion week which will take place in London in June is now in its 25th year. We can be sure these two names will draw in the crowds to watch these young designers showcase their talents. Christopher Bailey happens to be one of Graduate fashion week’s alumni as he won the top Gold award when he showed at the event in 1991.Graduate fashion week will be hosted at the Old Truman Brewery in East London. Graduate Fashion Week is sponsored by George at Asda, with fashion retailers Karen Millen and Boohoo also funding prizes.
Britain’s favourite undies
The Vcitoria & Albert Museum is well known for its remarkable displays and next year will be no different for the museum. From April 2016 –February 2017 we will get a look into what some of our favourite undies are. The exhibition “A Brief History of Underwear – will feature some of our favourite undies from boxers to high-fashion thongs.
He may be one of the coolest leaders in the world at the moment, but it doesn’t mean he is cool enough to hang with his daughters. Barack Obama’s two daughters Sasha 14 and Malia 17 have grown a lot in the last seven years that their father has been the President. Obama recently explained in an interview how he leaves his girls to get on with what they want in their social lives, as long as it’s safe. "You get these teenage moments - they love you, but what I think really affects you most is they just don't have time for you… and they've got all these friends who are much more interesting." Never mind Mr President we will always have time for you.

Obama’s teenage trouble
The year in review In March 2015 a British Airways flight to Dubai had to be turned back to Heathrow Airport after a stinky doo doo caused the toilet to overflow leaving a foul stench on the whole plane. The plane got as far as Brussels, when passengers could not bear the smell and complained to cabin crew who could not solve the problem.
Selfie Shoes
by
Miz Mooz
Forget the selfie stick, put on the selfie shoe. Just pop your phone/camera in the space provided (just arch your foot slightly). This innovative design was announced on 1st April by the brand, so we are not sure if this was an April Fool’s joke or whether it will stick with us into next year.
R.I.P to Bruce Jenner This year we were introduced to Caitlyn Jenner a transgender woman.
“Everybody get up!”… well actually no. We all remember the hit song Blurred Lines which had us all on our feet and gave us joy. Unfortunately it didn’t end so well for Pharrell Williams & Co, who were sued by Marvin Gaye's family for over £3 million. A US court ruled the hit song sounded too similar to Marvin Gaye’s song "Got to Give it Up.

MYTHS ON BEING AN ADULT We all remember those boring nights, stuck at home, on the couch with your parents, thinking I wish I was older so I can go out whenever I want and have my own space in my own house. But now the time has come and we realise that being an adult is not what we expected. Here are our myths on being an adult. We are sure you can all relate to at least one!
1. Living with your best friend is fun 24/7 Living with your best friend may sound like so much fun, at the age of around 16/17 but when it actually comes down to it, you will find yourselves arguing over why you haven’t put your share of the bills in or even worse, your friend is always bringing people round and having parties when you’ve just come home from a long day of work and all you want to do is relax with a glass of wine in front of the telly.
2. When you finally have money, you’ll be able to get some of the things you deserve! Its end of the month and you finally get your well earned pay check only to find that you need to go and do your food shopping. Your roommate was too “busy” to do it and now you are spending your paycheck on Tesco shopping instead of buying that new Marc Jacobs bag.
3. Being responsible for yourself is a rewarding experience that makes you value your independence! You’ve finally got your own place which means absolute FREEDOM! The first few days are fun until the end of week you run out of clothes and dishes because you forgot that your parents aren’t here anymore to do all of the chores for you, and that some of the chores are actually more complicated than they seem.
18
4. You won’t have to pretend you like certain things, because you’ll be free to express yourself ! You’re an adult now so you can express how you feel without getting told off, unfortunately that’s not the case instead you end up finding yourself having to pretend to enjoy something to keep others happy. You learn to pretend to like your job and roommates which is a very difficult thing to do!
5. You always knew what you wanted to be a when you grew up. Unfortunately life doesn’t always go according to plan. When you’re younger you dream of becoming something big just like that, but as you get older you learn that it’s harder than you think, especially if you don’t put in the effort.

Demur Fashion Hawks – Godfidence Chris Gilberto is the young man behind the brand GODFIDENCE . Based in Paris Godfidence is a connection of two obvious imperative words “God” and “Confidence”, this is very much about the man this designer is. Hailing from the fashion capital, Chris is determined to ensure Godfidence becomes a household label whilst embedding the brand’s philosophy to the nation "Dress To Impress Express Not To" What can we look forward to from future collections? Well, the brand is a reflection of Chris himself, he considers it as a great book where each collection will be a return to a chapter of his life. The first collection, will be entitled "Chapter 1: Legacy," the legacy name simply means that the first collection is the result of all the biggest influences and inspirations of Chris Gilberto. This collection finds its inspiration through various time frames, such as the look of the American grunge movement of the 80s-90s, through the American street style in the 90s and in the cuts of African obliged and Asian all periods. The collection will offer models on the basis of oversize clothes worked to give a casual look while remaining clothed, so each piece can be worn on all occasions. The heritage collection will consist of several models of t-shirts and sweatshirts. ESSENTIAL CAP, is the first article in the series "Heritage". A 6 panel cap with black embroidery 2, back on the Velcro and another on the left. The first is the name of the brand and the second is the inscription "Phillipians 4:13". You can pick up your Godfidence attire from “Godfidence.bigcartel.com”.

Demur Fashion Hawks – Laurie Nouchka Laurie Nouchka is a British brand creating print focused, sports luxe, active wear. Drawing and painting city architecture which we print and make in to stylish, vibrant art: That you wear. All their products are printed and made here in the UK
So where did the name for the brand come from? It’s my first name and middle name – fairly unique though I’m realising not always that easy to say or spell! It was important to me that it was my name though – this is who I am.
Where can we pick up our Laurie Nouchka collection? Launching in April 2016 the core collections will be sold online via our own shop www.laurienouchka.com . Soon to be via other online and offline stores and we are collaborating with other brands to do Laurie Nouchka ‘inspired by’ prints…
What were you doing before you set up the brand? For eight years I was a creative producer for an iconic London Venue. But primarily I was always a painter. I have been doing that full time for the last 3 years.
Where does the inspiration come from for the designs? All the designs are inspired by iconic architectural landmarks and the energy of the urban landscape. I have so many artists I admire but Hockney for his use of colour and his drawing skills, Hodgkin for his Colour and pattern and Matisse for the way he evokes movement in his work.
Why the urban landscape? So much energy. I find all my energy in the city. The countryside is a place of retreat, silence and stillness for me whereas the city brings a fire into my belly and I just see so much colour and movement all around me. I hope my designs add energy to the people who wear them.
What are the biggest challenges you have faced so far? Not having enough stock ready to satisfy the demand! A good challenge I suppose. Finding the right manufacturer was tough at first
Who are your target customers? Women aged 25 – 50 who are active and like to look good and feel inspired by what they wear. Though we are soon producing items for men. I think the clothing is bright and uplifting – so it suits people with that personality – active and positive people.
What position would you like to see your company in this time next year? A recognised, unique stylish sportsluxe brand in at least 4 cities around the world. As the print subject is all about iconic city buildings we are slowly building collections around different cities. This year it is London, Barcelona and LA. Next year Sydney and New York. But I want to keep it small enough that we don’t dominate a market – I aim to keep it well made, unique and personal.
23
Favourite city: That’s an impossible question for me – cities are my subject and focus. The vibrancy of them are what inspire my drawings. But if I had to whittle it down it would be London and Barcelona but maybe that’s because those are two I know best and a part of my heart lies in both.
Favourite meal: Paella – but it has to be home cooked and eaten in the right location.
Favourite book: Shamefully I don’t read enough – my mind is too busy at the moment to focus on a good read– but the last book I read and would happily read again was Alain de Bottom Essays in Love. I’m also a huge fan of Kate Tempest and love Hold your Own – this would probably be the book I would take away on a desert island with me.
Best piece of advice:
Stay positive.

Feed your skin
As the wind brushes against your face and the cold weather dries up, this leaves your skin feeling dry and scaly. Fear not as we present you with some ingredients that will replenish your skin and give you that extra glow.
Honey, Lemon Juice, Apple Cider Vinegar and Olive Oil Honey believe it or not, may possibly be the best thing that’s ever happened to your skin. With that in mind, grab that jar of Honey from your cupboard. Pour out 2 Tbsp into a small dish and mix with 1 Tbsp of Apple Cider Vinegar or Lemon Juice and just a few drops of Olive Oil. You can leave the mask on for about 2030mins and then wash it off with lukewarm water. This mask will help to heal and moisturise your skin. However be sure your face is clean of any make up creams, to ensure the mask works effectively. Please do not use White Vinegar as a substitute and be sure not to get any of the mixture into your eyes.
Egg White, Avocado, and Natural Yoghurt Separating egg whites and yolks can be a trying task. Do not be tempted to use the shop bought egg whites. The whole point of this is to use natural products. Place your egg white in a small bowl together with one quarter of an avocado and then add in 1 Tsp of yoghurt. Mix all ingredients together well and then apply on your clean face, making sure not to get any of the mixture into eyes. Relax and the leave the application on your face for 15-20minutes and then risen it off with luke-warm water. This formula will help to hydrate and exfoliate your skin restoring that natural glow.
Orange and Milk This masks requires you having to eat a few oranges a few in days in advance, reason being you will need to collect the dry orange zest of about 2-3 oranges. When the zest is dry, it will feel rough; you will need to grind it into powder foam. Once you have your powdered zest is ready, add in a few drops of milk and milk until you make a paste. Take your paste and apply it on to your face and leave it for 30minutes and then wash it off. Your face will start to feel fresh and airy, this is just orange zest cleansing your skin. Milk also helps to retain moisture.
28
Just in case you haven’t got time to make these homemade masks, you can also eat your way to beautiful skin.
Blueberries
These little monsters are great for your skin as they are rich in antioxidants and your skin strongly needs antioxidants. Blueberries help you with anti-aging process which we are all so concerned about at this stage.
Almonds
It turns out almonds are actually seeds and not nuts. Almonds are full of Vitamin E which works effectively as a sun blocker making sure your skin does not get burnt and protects you against pollution ensuring your skin is not affected by the obnoxious air.
Broccoli We will not lie and say it’s the tastiest vegetable in the world, but if it is done well it can taste nice. Broccoli is good for you; again it’s high in antioxidants. The Vitamin E & C will leave your skin feeling healthy and protect you from UV radiation damage. Fish (especially Salmon) No, this does not mean you can go down your local fish and chippy on a daily basis. Fresh fish contains Omega-3 fatty acids and these are good fats our skin needs. They help protect our skin from the sun and have been said to reduce your chances of getting some forms of skin cancer.

Necar Zadegan "Girlfriends' Guide To Divorce"
Necar Zadegan is back with season two of "Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce" with her best girlfriends Abby McCarthy (Lisa Edelstein),Phoebe (Beau Garrett), and Jo (Alanna Ubach). Necar returns in the much talked about series as a divorce lawyer. We caught up with Necar and tried to get some juicy details about the new season. Congratulations on the second season of Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce! How does your character differ from the advice you give your girlfriend’s in real life? I think Delia's advice is quite sage, and I think I try to be like that when I give my friends advice too. But truth be told I try to give as little advice as possible, I think it's better sometimes just to listen. Plus, you can't get blamed that way. You have a background of mixed cultures, how has that influenced the person you have become? I think if you get to see more than one perspective, you are a very lucky person, so I am grateful for that because I have family everywhere. I have been able to travel in a very close to the ground sort of way; that I have an opportunity to become educated from various points of view. It's certainly allowed me to become compassionate. That's an important quality for anyone but very much for an actor, to be able to have compassion for other people’s journeys. If you could describe your character Delia Banai as any fashion item, what item would you chose and why? Probably a bra because she is feminine, flirty and supportive. What’s a night out with you girlfriend’s like for you? It could really be anything; we are like Brando, totally unpredictable! Actually I think my girls and I are very busy so when we get together we are usually on vacation somewhere to really relax. The most recent time I was with my friends was in Greece for my sister’s wedding, so I guess you could say we are always celebrating when we are together. Some of my girlfriends who live in LA are also actresses so when I see them in town we might be at a work event or something, but if we get time for just us, we might just hide away in some nail salon getting pampered and giggling. What is the best advice you think you have ever given or been given by one of your girlfriends? Pretend it never happened. I'm just kidding. Well, no actually that's pretty good advice sometimes. I think truly the best advice a friend ever gave me was to write it down. Whatever you want, whether it's your goals or things you desire, or whatever troubles you, journal them. It's a place you can see your own thoughts without judgement and you can kind of see where your mind is at from a distance. You can always rip it up later if you decide you don't want it laying around. But at least you get it out of your head.
31
How would you describe your fashion style? My own? Classic. Because of the character I play on the show I pay closer attention to fashion week nowadays and what details I can share with the costume designer about how to always keep Delia's wardrobe on trend, or not so, depending on the scene. But usually with my character, it's mostly on. I also play the only character on the show with a job that dictates things about her wardrobe. So we play with those rules and also stick to them at times, but my character is also specific in her fashion sense and can afford to be on trend so it's great fun to be able to do that within the story. It's a shame you don't get to see all my shoes! Perhaps we should shoot more things in the wide shot. I'll see if I can talk to someone about that.
32
Everyone on social media seems excited about the second season of Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, what are you allowed to reveal and what can we expect from your character? Delia has a very active, busy, dramatic, exciting season! She is encountering something she has always feared and I think the writers have crafted a lot of hilarious choices she has to make while she tries to conquer her demons. I've spent most of the season reading each incoming script and laying it down saying "oh, poor Delia!" We actually get to reveal more than I always think we can, which always surprises me. Delia will be planning a wedding all year. Which I think is how long it generally takes in real life too. The last season ended with all the characters more or less deciding to leave their pasts behind and looking towards their future. They all hope, in this season though they will find out that the stuff you decide to leave behind might just come back to get you if you don't deal with it and that is just what Delia encounters slowly through the course of the season. Season 2 of Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce will premiere in the US on Bravo on 1st December 2015. You can still catch up here in the UK on season 1 episodes on Lifetime UK every Tuesday at 10pm.

Demur's Guide to a break-up
After speaking to Necar she had us thinking about how difficult break ups can be. So to help those who are going through it, here are some steps to help you get over your break up.
Work on yourself
Relationships can have us depending a lot on people, that when they leave we feel like our whole world has to stop. No! No! No! You can do this, learn to depend on yourself. This is your time to focus on yourself and find out who are you so that you may have more to offer the next person and more importantly yourself. Learn to face life by yourself instead of finding comfort and security in others because it will not last, you will be back in this position again.
You are allowed to mourn/cry
Go on let it all out, don’t worry about snort coming out of your nose, cry your heart out. Keeping your emotions in is never good for anyone. There are some major after effects of not letting it all out, you may start to push people away without wanting to. However know when to pick yourself up and carry on.
Face your reality
Some people like to keep busy, which at times makes you forget about the situation. Still you need to face reality, realise it has happened, learn to accept it (it will take time) and work on getting over it.
They will come back…
Or maybe they won’t. Some people will live in the hope that their lover will see sense and come back to them, this can go on for years and in the meantime your life is on
hold. It is ok to get some closure from your ex and confirm there and then that there will be no reconciliation whatsoever.
Remember how great it was when you were single?
Think about the things you used to do before you met your ex, the things you gave up. Relationships are about compromise and you may have had to stop doing some things for the sake of your other half. Pick up that old hobby, that old habit, whatever it is find it and get on with it. You might just your find your happiness in that again.
Be careful who you talk to?
You will feel the need to let it all out to your friends, family or whoever is around and it is only natural. Almost everyone who you talk to will have an opinion and all those opinions will fill up your head with ideas and it will confuse you. If you are going to talk to someone, go to someone who knows you well and who you trust. Everybody has at least that one person.
Declutter your life
Have a life spring clean. This is a new start, out with the old and in with the new. A clear head space makes for a better living. You are able to think much clearer and you will be making space for new things to come into your life. This also takes your mind off the current situation.
34
How do celebrities deal with break ups? They might have all the money and the fame , but unfortunately they still experience the same emotions we do. So how do they deal with their separations differently?
They get together and issue a statement.
Never understood why celebrities feel the need to explain their personal private relationships. However there is no blame and it’s almost as if they are issuing the statement to the public as their kids, explaining why their parents are no longer together.
Some like to keep to keep it to themselves
Usually celebrity break ups are full of juicy details and at times we are itching to know why, who where and what? But some celebrities just like to keep it to themselves, perhaps to avoid gossip or to create it.
They have rehearsed their story a thousand times.
They have to. They are going to be interviews and paparazzi turning up at their door step, so it’s better to have your story/answers panned out. The last thing a celebrity wants to do is have a breakdown in front of the cameras.
They carry on with their work
They have to. There is pressure and high demand on being a celebrity. Millions of people are depending on you and looking up to you. Although it is unfortunate that it is that way, but some celebrities feel they have a responsibility to be role models to their fans, so they go back to doing what they do best. Sometimes returning to your passion really does help.
