Our new branding was launched at the beginning of the year, and we have now rolled this out to all of our sites, including uniform and showroom decoration. THE REBRAND STORY
2017 started with a bang for the Hendy Group, launching a brand new look to start the year off in style. With the addition of many new brands to Hendy’s range in 2016, it was decided that the entire dealership group required a new corporate identity to unite the Group as one, and reflect its expanded, far-reaching automotive offering across the South Coast – we think our rebrand does just that. Now representing Dacia, Ford, Ford CV, Isuzu, Iveco, Kia, Honda, Mazda, MG, Renault, SEAT and Suzuki brands, and with our Car Store used car dealership

in the Group’s offering too, there’s a lot sitting under the Hendy umbrella. From the many logo ideas developed, the chosen one had to be able to represent each of these Hendy sites professionally, oozing the qualities that the Hendy name evokes – quality products and premium care, all with a personal touch. In order to make sure we got the branding spot on and were able to achieve our goal, research was carried out to gain some understanding of consumer perception and brand evolution – we even held

a discreet online poll to see how the public viewed logo ideas from a design perspective. Following this extensive research and months of preparation, our previous Hendy logo underwent redevelopment. And now, here we are, with a refreshed look that is clean and contemporary, is aligned with the automotive industry and showcases a premium feel; we hope you like what you see. You’ll notice our new logo in and around your local Hendy dealership, from number plate covers and forecourt flags to your appointment card, and everything in between. The new Hendy logo is suitable for all kinds of application and will complement any and every automotive brand logo and colour scheme going
forward; it transfers effortlessly across the entire Hendy offering, including Hendy Approved, Hendy Truck, Hendy Power, Hendy Performance and Hendy Marine, keeping all arms of the Hendy Group spreading a consistent brand message. Three great reasons to head to Crawley Keeping with Ford, Hendy has now started work on a new car and commercial vehicle site in Crawley, converting a recently vacated site into a contemporary Ford showroom and Transit Centre. The facility features a six-bay workshop, with four large ramps to service the area’s commercial vehicles – this site is due to be completed in mid-November.
Starting off on the right foot The Hendy Academy was launched to train all Hendy hopefuls and make them into the expert team members you’ll find at each and every one of our dealerships. We now have two of these dedicated training facilities in Portsmouth and Horley, equipping both new and existing Hendy staff with all the skills required to be a success.
With Ford vacating its current premises, Hendy Mazda in Crawley has space to expand. Work will begin upon completion of Hendy Ford Crawley, and will hopefully be ready in time for Christmas. With Mazda moving on, that leaves the door open for something new in Crawley – Hendy Suzuki. The showroom will be transferred to Suzuki standards and will also be ready to launch mid-November.

Charities The Pickering Centre – The centre is a self-funding registered charity. It was established by a group of cancer patients, who recognised the need for somewhere to go, to relax and talk with others in a similar situation. They also realised that families, friends and carers needed a place to find information and talk freely, without burdening the patient or each other. The Rainbow Centre – The Rainbow Centre inspires and supports children with Cerebral Palsy and adults with a stroke, MS and Parkinson’s, adult Cerebral Palsy, head injuries and their families. Through a system of learning called Conductive Education the centre encourages and teaches children/participants to take an active role in their own development.

Staff news Hendy strengthens management team with key appointment Automotive group Hendy has strengthened its management team with the appointment of Tim Ward as group finance and insurance manager. Tim joins the company from his role as national sales manager for Jaguar Financial Services and he has more than 20 years' experience working in the finance industry. Hendy commercial director Mark Busby said he was delighted to welcome Tim to the team and that his finance and business development expertise would help the company continue its growth plans. "Having a strong team is key to the success of Hendy whether that is in the dealerships or working at group level and I have no doubt that Tim will play an important role in our future. "His background in finance and his work at Jaguar Financial Services give Tim valuable experience to help us maximise performance in all areas of the business." Tim joins at an exciting time for the company. Just 12 months since the takeover of Lifestyle Motor Group, Hendy has announced investment plans for new and upgraded facilities throughout the group from Devon to Hampshire, Sussex, Surrey and Kent. "I have dealt with the Group since I joined the industry in 1997 and have always admired the way in which it has grown, looks after staff and has a total commitment to customer satisfaction," said Tim.
As part of the Hendy senior management team, Tim will be involved in helping all areas of the business maximise opportunities. Married with two children, Tim lives in Southampton and is part of a football-loving family. He and his daughter are keen Everton fans while his wife and son are Saints supporters.
