BMW Update New 3 Series Touring BMW has unveiled the new 3 Series Touring, which goes on sale in September 2012. Codenamed F31, it takes the slick styling of the 3 Series Saloon and attaches an elegant wagon rear to increase the available space. Larger and more spacious inside than ever before, this versatile vehicle possesses a wide range of practical features in addition to the class-leading driving dynamics expected of any BMW. A load capacity that is the largest in its class, complete with innovative storage solutions, is wrapped in a dynamically styled, strong but lightweight body that follows the same winning formula of previous BMW 3 Series Touring models over the years. After all, it was BMW that invented the premium Touring segment
back with the E30 3 Series, and it has proved a winning formula ever since, with an average of 8,500 buyers every year. Three advanced, powerful, yet frugal engine choices are available at launch. For example, the new BMW 330d Touring produces 258hp and 560Nm of torque, enough to reach 62mph from rest in just 5.6 seconds, yet still achieves 55.4mpg on the combined cycle. Further engine variants will join the range in due course. Also from September 2012, the all-new BMW 3 Series Saloon will be available with BMW xDrive. MINI Update John Cooper Works GP The MINI John Cooper Works brings together an iconic brand and a rich racing heritage. It provides the driving enthusiast with a combination of fun-to-drive performance, quality engineering and unconventional attitude. MINI has recently unveiled the new MINI John Cooper Works GP – a limited edition hot hatch. Just 2000 MINI GP editions will be built, with first sales due in late 2012. It’s set to be the fastest, most hardcore MINI you can buy, with race-derived adjustable suspension and a 1.6-litre turbo engine. The front wheel drive John Cooper Works, available as a two-door hatchback or convertible, represents the
peak of MINI performance. The turbocharged, direct injection 1.6-litre four cylinder engine is expected to make between 220 and 230 bhp, although no precise figures have been announced yet. A six-speed manual is the only transmission available. Standard equipment includes exclusive 17-inch cross-spoke wheels with run-flat performance tyres, piano black interior trim, Dynamic Stability Control, electronic differential lock control, and Dynamic Traction Control. Features such as bi-xenon headlights, sport suspension, aerodynamic body kit, Bluetooth, navigation system, satellite radio, leather seat trim, parking sensors, rain sensing wipers, and black or white racing stripes are optional.

Group News Scotthall Hampshire Scotthall Hampshire were proud sponsors of Olympic diver Peter Waterfield. The team at Hampshire proudly got behind Peter in the run up to London 2012 and have enjoyed watching him compete for Team GB. Peter took some time out of his training to visit the showroom and have his picture taken with the Golden BMW and the Scotthall Team.
Scotthall Stirling Corner On Sunday 22nd July, Stirling Corner held an Olympic Torch event and approximately 200 people visited the dealership to have their photograph taken with an Olympic torch. The event also featured an ice cream van and magician, along with some great activities for children. Stirling Corner were also proud sponsors of Greg Searle, the Olympic rower, and we would like to congratulate Greg and the rest of the team on winning a bronze medal at London 2012. Stirling Corner have recently appointed dedicated New and Used Sales Managers, allowing them to give customers a better level of service. In addition, Jon Nash has recently started as the new contact for fleet and corporate enquiries. Finally, we are delighted to announce that Matt Jevon has recently become a father, and what’s more, he’s also qualified as a BMW (ATA) Senior Technician. Congratulations, Matt!
Scotthall Milton Keynes On Sunday 8th July, Scotthall Milton Keynes held a fun day with a BBQ, bouncy castle, and face painting. Olympian Sam Oldham stopped by to join the fun before returning to training. To add to the excitement of the day, a MINI convoy was also arranged. To celebrate the Olympic Torch coming to Milton Keynes, the day after a special fund-raising event was held at the MK Dons Football Stadium. Scotthall Milton Keynes were one of the main sponsors and the event raised over £20,000. All local Olympians past and present from the area attended, including guest speaker Sharron Davies pictured with Dealer Principal David Abel (below left).
Scotthall Watford We’d like to extend a huge warm welcome to Watford’s new General Manager, Dan Jones. Dan has 20 years’ experience in the industry, and started his career as a Sales Executive. Dan believes that a successful business starts with a happy team, so that’s what he will be focusing on first. Watford have recently invested in their parking facilities, to extend the parking area. Now there are plenty of parking spaces for customers when visiting the dealership – just another reason to pop in when you’re passing. They’re perfectly located for customers based in and around North London and the M25. On Saturday 21st July, around 100 people visited the Watford dealership to have their photo taken with an Olympic torch. In addition, Watford are planning to sponsor local paralympian basketball player Helen Freeman. Helen made her Paralympic debut aged 18 in Beijing 2008. Since then she has been an integral part of the GB team and secured European bronze in Stoke Mandeville, where she was the team’s top scorer.
