QASHQAI TRIUMPHS AT WHAT CAR? AWARDS FOR THIRD TIME NEW 16 PLATE The Nissan Qashqai has been named the ‘Best Small SUV’ at the 2016 What Car? Awards for the third consecutive year. After being named ‘Best Buy’ in the £15,000 - £25,000 price bracket, the Qashqai then went on to be named as overall winner in the ‘Small SUV’ category. The best-selling crossover in Europe had to beat 16 other shortlisted models to take victory, but What Car? praised the impressive quality, styling and technology. Topping the line-up was the 1.5dCi 110 n-tec, recognised by the judges for its refined diesel engine, efficiency, economy, smooth suspension, interior quality and generous equipment levels. Managing Director of Nissan Motors GB, James Wright, commented on the award, saying, “We’re delighted that the Qashqai’s charm has won over the What Car? judges yet again. It’s also a winner with the car-buying public who have made the Nissan Qashqai the best-selling crossover in the UK.”

Production began in Sunderland in 2014, so the Qashqai has been scooping this ‘Best Small SUV’ award since it burst onto the scene, and in September 2015, it became the fastest ever UK-built vehicle to sell past the half million production mark – to meet demands, a new Qashqai has been built every 62 seconds, which is 58 per hour, on Line 1 at the Sunderland plant. ŠKODA UK is proudly sponsoring the 2016 Aviva Women’s Tour this June, part of the leading worldwide series of races for professional women’s cyclists – during the race, ŠKODA vehicles will be used as safety cars.

The tour will run from Wednesday 15th – Sunday 19th June 2016, starting in Southwold on the Suffolk coast and finishing five stages later in Northamptonshire – Arbury team members from ŠKODA in Leamington Spa will be showing their support by attending Stage Two on Thursday 16th June, which runs through Warwickshire.

The route for Stage Two will take cyclists from Atherstone in the north of the county, through Meriden, home of the National Cycling Memorial, past Kenilworth and Warwick castles, through Gaydon and Shipston on Stour and finally landing at the final destination of Shakespeare’s Stratford, where Arbury will be showcasing ŠKODA vehicles as part of the event.

The stage is 140 kilometres long, ascending 1,722 metres in total, with a highest point of 250 metres, so it’ll be challenging but no doubt rewarding. We wish the best of luck to everyone taking part in this immense challenge.

the 10km off-road run and working hard to defeat numerous obstacles and encounters along the way.
