IT HAS BEEN NOTORIOUS FOR STREET VENDORS, DRUG TRAFFICKING, VIOLENT CRIMES AND ACTIVITIES, AND MURDERS. INTRODUCING A BUILDING WITH A LARGE FOOTPRINT INTO A SMALL SCALE-FOOTPRINT, CREATING OPEN SPACE AREA FOR THE LOCAL PUBLIC TO ENJOY, AND TAKE PRIDE IN. THE DESIGN DELIVERS INTERACTIVE SHOPPING, DINNING, ENTERTAINMENT, AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR WORKING CLASS RESIDENTS. RESIDENTS AND VISITORS ALIKE WILL FEEL SAFE EXPERIENCING A VIBRANT HIGH ENERGY REDEVELOPMENT SITE.

REVITALIZING AREA IS LOCATED IN THE SOUTH SECTION OF BALBOA PARK JUST MINUTES FROM DOWNTOWN SAN DIEGO AND CLOSE TO THE WORLD-FAMOUS SAN DIEGO ZOO, SOUTHBOUND FROM FREEWAY 163-EXITING PARK BLVD.

OBJECTIVES REDUCE BIG SCALE PARKING TO INCORPORATE GREEN SPACE TO WELCOME PEDESTRIAN WALK TO CONECT INTO THE PARK. CONSTRUCT PEDESTRIAN SPACES BY KEEPING THE EXISTING TRAIL PATHS AND INCORPORATING NEW PATHS TO REVIVE THE CAYON AND TO INHACE FRENDLY CONECTION THROW OUT THE PARK.

THIS URBAN PARK REVITIALIZING IDEA IS TO ACTIVATE THE DEAD AREAS TO ATRACT VISITORS AND FACILITATE THEM THEIR VISIT IN BALBOA PARK. BY PLACING WALKING TRAILS PATHS, TRAM ROAD, OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES, ENHANCE SIDEWALKS, ADD BICYCLE LINES, FOOD STANDS AND KIOSKOS AROUND THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE PARK CONNECTING TO THE CITY. CREATING THIS PROJECT THE NEXT CHAPTER IN BALBOA’S FUTURE AS A VIBRANT AND HEALTHY CITY URBAN PARK.

FARM TO TABLE CULINARY ART INSTITUTE IS A THIRD-QUARTER THAT CONSISTED OF DESIGNING AN URBAN TO AN ARCHITECTURAL SCALE. FIRST TWO QUARTERS WAS REDESIGNING THE URBAN FABRIC OF MISSION VALLEY QUALCOMM STADIUM’S PROPERTY AND SORROUNDING. COVERTING A PARKING LOT ENTHUSIASTIC SPACE TO A PEDESRAIN FRIENDLY ENVIROMENT. THIS HYBRID QUALCOMM CITY WILL BE THE HOME OF SAN DIEGOS NEW CULTURE CENTER. CULINARY, SPORTS, MUSIC, PERMORMING ARTS, FASHION AND EDUCATION ARE THE BASE CONCENTRATIONS OF THE CULTURAL CENTER. AFTER DESIGNING THE URBAN FABRIC A MASS WAS CHOSEN TO BE A EDUCATIONAL.
