PREPARING FOR YOUR SESSION HAIR, SKIN, & NAILS If you’re having your hair done on the day of your shoot, please allow for adequate time between your salon appointment and your session time. Your hands will more than likely be captured in more than a few of your images. Nails should be either all the same color, clear-coated, or left clean and unpainted. Be sure your hands and arms are well moisturized.
FACE & MAKEUP It is highly highly recommended that you have your makeup professionally done for your shoot. Your session will generally include a makeup artist, unless prior arrangements have been made to provide your own. It is expected that the makeup artist will be present for the entirety of your session to provide any needed touchups. Please arrive to your shoot with a fresh, clean face. If necessary, bring chapstick to keep your lips moist. Visine for red eyes. The makeup artist will ask you a few questions about your skin and everyday makeup regimen before she begins to avoid any allergic reactions. The makeup application is solely meant to enhance your natural features! What may seem like more makeup than you normally wear, is actually appropriate for shooting under studio lighting. If you’re anxious about looking too overdone, try to relax and keep an open mind while your makeup is being applied. Hold your judgment until you’ve seen the final results. In the end, how you look and feel about yourself will transfer to what’s reflected on camera.
POSING This is the part where many clients feel the most uneasy. Please know that you’re not expected to know how to pose. Even mimicking what you may have seen on beauty commercials or America’s Next Top Model may come across as stiff and unnatural in your photos. As your photographer, I ask that you trust my guidance in helping you achieve the most flattering poses for your body shape and figure. But most of all, have FUN!
AFTER THE SHOOT Once we’ve finished shooting in all the outfits you’ve selected, we’ll choose a date and time for you to return to view your final images. Expect a minimum of 15-20 best image selections at your ordering session, where you’ll choose your favorites, and then select your print products. The average delivery time for your order is approximately one to two weeks. Rush orders can be requested for an additional charge.
GLAM: WHAT TO WEAR Below is a small selection of clothing style suggestions. Attention will be focused on your upper body and face, so light, close-fitting fabrics will be most complimentary to your figure. Try to refrain from wearing anything with too much pattern or oversized jewelry that might distract from the most important feature of your images—YOU. For colors, think pastels, jewel tones, whites and creams. Add some shine with sequins or satin/ silk finish materials. How about bringing that fancy little cocktail or evening dress you’ve never had a reason to wear more than once? Don’t forget accessories! Whatever you feel best compliments your outfits and speaks to your true personality, bring it! If you just can’t decide what to wear, feel free to bring your favorites and we’ll see what works best. Remember to bring your clothes on hangers to keep them wrinkle-free.
EXAMPLES
DEFINING BOUDOIR Everyone seems to have their own definition of what boudoir is. When photographing for a boudoir shoot, it’s really all about how you choose to express the most personal side of yourself in front of the camera. Whether you’re wearing your most intimate lingerie or a floor-length ball gown, it’s whatever makes you feel the most open, expressive, and sultry. Only wear what you feel most comfortable in. Get creative! Bring several different outfits if you’re unsure what will look best on you in front of the camera. Have fun! Define sexy—your way!
BOOKING 1. INQUIRE FOR AVAILABILITY Call or email with the date or dates you would like to set an appointment.
2. BOOK BY DEPOSIT Once the availability of your date is confirmed, a 50% non-refundable deposit is due to reserve your session. This deposit guarantees no one else can book your date. Deposits can be made by Cash, Check, or Paypal.
3. PRE-CONSULTATION We’ll discuss the details of your upcoming session, including photography style, location, clothing options, and answer any questions or concerns you may have.
4. YOUR SHOOT Your time to shine! Get plenty of rest before your session. Prepare to relax and enjoy a few hours of pampering.
5. ORDERING SESSION You’ll preview your images for the first time, select your favorites, then place your print order.
POLICIES • All deposits are non-refundable unless the photographer is unable to service the scheduled shoot due to sickness or personal emergency. • Scheduled outdoor shoots affected by poor weather conditions (i.e., snow, rain, extreme cold or heat) will be rescheduled to the next available date most convenient for the client. • Client cancellations must be rescheduled within 60 days of the original shoot date, or the deposit is forfeited. No more than two reschedules are allowed for the same booking before the original deposit is forfeited, and a new deposit is required. • Because of the custom nature of the product, all sales are final. Product pricing is subject to change at any time.
