End of the Battle of Madagascar

The Alamein End of the Second Battle.

It was the continuation of the First Battle of Alamein, which had stopped the advance of the Afrika Korps forces. After some strong clashes between British and German armored vehicles, Rommel’s forces were repelled by the 9th Australian Division. The German forces escaped to Tunisia, where they received some reinforcements that they need because in the Northwest coast of Africa had disembarked the Anglo-American troops in the Operation Torch. The France’s Vichy forces then turned against Germany, forcing Rommel to fight a war with two fronts in a hostile territory.

The news about the total occupation of France by the Wehrmacht arrived to North of Africa in the night of the 10th. Before this situation, Darlan convinced to the military leaders to join the Anglo-Americans, and so they had to leave their loyalty to Vichy due to the German occupation.

Battle of Buna Gona

Important battle of the New Campaign. Guinea during the War of the Pacific in the Second World War that had place on the northeast coast of New Guinea. This battle started when the Australian forces and Americans assaulted the heads of most important Japanese beaches in Buna, Sanananda and Gona.

End of the naval battle of Casablanca

In the last phases of this battle intervened the German aircrafts and submarines, when the forces of the Vichy France were already giving up. Finally the Americans took control of Casablanca.

Battle of Tassafaronga

It was a night naval battle that was developed in the Pacific between the Japanese Imperial Navy and the Navy of the U.S. The battle took place in the Strait of Iron Fund (called Ironbottom Sound), Near the Tassafaronga area in Guadalcanal

Offensive launched by the Soviet Union against the forces of the Nazi Germany. It developed between the cities of Rzhev, Sychevka and Viazma, at the west of Moscow. The battles were known as «the mincer meat from Rzhev» for the huge Soviet losses. Many details were hidden, largely for mitigate the huge losses that the Soviets suffered. The Soviet advertising said that the Operation Mars only consisted in an offensive of fun for Operation Uranus.
